    Liner-Conveyed Gravel Pack System

    Runningthe LCGPSystem

To run the LCGP system, the wellbore should first be

conditioned to clean out drill cuttings. All workstrings,

liner, screens, and washpipe to be used should also be

fully cleaned and drifted. With a properly conditioned

hole, the lower sandface and cementing liner completion

assembly can be picked up, which includes the: gravel

pack flow subassembly, isolation packer, and

appropriately centralized liner assembly with cementing

sleeves. This assembly is hung off on the liner. The

washpipe is then run with the sand control service tool to

run and be spaced out inside screen and liner assembly.

The upper liner packer is picked up, attached to the

service tool string and liner and run into the well. Once

on depth the setting ball is dropped to set the upper

liner top Versa-Trieve packer, release from the packerand test.

The service tool is then moved into a position to set the

liner isolation packers. The tool is positioned to displace

the open hole and condition it for gravel packing

operations. The tool is moved into a circulate position

for pumping the gravel pack and then to a reverse

position to reverse out excess slurry.

At this point the service tool can be pulled out if

Swellpacker isolation systems are used to isolate the

open hole, or cementing operations can begin by

opening the upper MCS closing sleeve and cementing

sleeve, followed by locating the service tool with weight

down in the cementing position. The cement is

displaced down the workstring and up across the liner

and is then reversed out of the service tool by picking up

and moving to the cement reverse position. The

cementing sleeve provides isolation to backflow of

    cement during reverse-out operations.

The service tool is retrieved and the fluid loss control

valve is closed to shut off the gravel-packed zone. Thewell is conditioned and final clean up operations are

performed to prepare the well for the upper completion

    equipment and final completion operations.

Run a Liner andConveya Gravel PackCompletionin a SingleTrip

The larger OD/ID screen across the sandface enables the use

of larger gravel packing tools and larger screens to increase

the open flow areas and reduce the pressure drop across the

reservoir. This optimizes production and minimizes erosion.

In some applications, use of the LCGP may enable the

reduction of a casing size in the well design.

of the liner when completing multilateral completions.

Once activated, the liner packer and part of the liner can be

removed from the lower assembly leaving the top of the liner

below the lateral junction. The multilateral junction can be

reconnected,if needed, when tripping upper completion

    CompletionChallenge

Wellbores requiring multiple casing liners to

depth can be an issue. Installing the largest sa

completion assembly across the sandface, tha

    restrict well flow is optimum.

    Liner-Conveyed Gravel Pack System

    TheLiner-ConveyedGravel Pack(LCGP)system provides a

single-trip combination casing liner and screen assembly

with the capability to place a sand control completion across

the sandface and cement the liner above. Since the liner is

combined with the screen into a single completion assembly,

the screen does not have to pass through the liner, enabling

the larger basepipe screen to be placed across the sandface.
