PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The H-CAMPUS Study Abroad Program provides an intensive and innovative acceleration course in the rapidly evolving world of digital entrepreneurship.

Led by a team of expert docents and mentors, who are all professionals in digital fields, students explore the current and future digital landscape, develop the technical and transversal skills required for digital entrepreneurship, and are inserted in a community of young and vibrant startups - all of this against the backdrop of one of the most culturally-rich and enigmatic cities in the world, Venice.

The Study Abroad Program allows students from colleges and universities from all over the world to discover the potentially disruptive wonders of the digital world, while taking part in the best-in-class academic standards and innovative teaching methods that are a hallmark of H-CAMPUS.

LEARNING BY EXPERIENCE

Meetings with startups and businesses in the H-FARM ecosystem who share their experiences, challenges and views on global innovation with the students. Creative activities are designed for experimentation with new technologies and teamwork methods. These experiences allow students to better understand group dynamics and further develop their relational skills.

Lessons with international docents and professionals from various digital sectors using case analysis and study of best practices. Using interactive games, students experiment with real-life digital and business situations.

PERSONAL RESEARCH & TEAM PROJECT

CLASSES

Independent research activities that explore the themes presented during the classroom lessons. Test sessions with digital platforms and tools. Team projects that apply newly-acquired knowledge. Co-design experiences with startups to get a taste of their work methods.

Discovery of Italian culture and traditions, through interactions with cultural and technological stakeholders. Student will experience these moments in active roles, guided in their exploration of the area using interactive platforms like WHAIWHAI; they will collect material, interviews and will be encouraged to draw parallels with their own native culture. The Study Abroad experience will conclude with the creation of a collective installation, the students’ creative interpretation of their innovative experience throughout the course of the Program.

When not in the classroom, students visit on-campus startups and local businesses, take part in cultural experiences and workshops in H-CAMPUS and venture off-campus on excursions to Venice and the surrounding Veneto region.

This unique mix of activities is designed to give students a 360-degree educational experience through eye-opening interactions with the digital and entrepreneurial worlds, as well as with Italy’s vast cultural heritage, spanning visual arts, design, theatre, fashion, architecture and food.

Students at H-CAMPUS also benefit from being able to take part in the rich calendar of events, workshops and seminars hosted by H-FARM and its partner companies. From concerts, to dance performances, to photography classes, students are always engaged and stimulated.

STUDENT LIFE AT H-CAMPUS

Location - The unique geographical position of H-CAMPUS connects it in just minutes to the historical center of Venice, a major international airport, as well as one of Italy’s major train hubs.

Venetian Lagoon - Located in verdant park land on the edge of the Venetian lagoon facing the island of Torcello, the special context of the H-CAMPUS community gives it an extremely high quality of life.

Housing - Students can choose to stay in a residence-style accommodation close to H-CAMPUS or in home-shares with local families. On-campus dormitories will begin housing students in 2018

Green architecture - H-CAMPUS buildings are low-impact and completely sustainable, using traditional materials and architectural forms that blend in with the natural environment.

Mobility - Students use bike-sharing programs, allowing them to easily get around on campus and other nearby structures with low environmental impact.

Dining - The two on-site restaurants not only sustain the student population but also provide casual areas for socializing, brainstorming, creating.

TUITION, ADMISSIONS +

HOW TO APPLY

Fees: Tuition: €2.800 Room & Board: €2.000 Participants will cover the costs of their air fare, travel documents + additional travel costs, and personal expenses while at H-CAMPUS and during excursions.

Admissions: The H-CAMPUS Study Abroad Program is highly selective. To apply, students must:

• Be at least 18 years old

• Have completed at least one year of undergraduate studies

• Have good academic standing

• Speak fluent English

• Have good working knowledge of computers and be familiar with the current digital landscape – its tools and methodologies.
