Guiding Orientation Presentation
Visit the Web Conferencing URL – www.redbackconferencing.com.au Select the “Join a Web Conference” button top right of screen Moderators choose the meeting role “I am a Moderator”, enter the Moderator Pass code 16516777 then select “Join the Web Conference.” (Please note that this is only to be used for training webinars). If the Moderators exit, the conference is closed for all.
Once the webinar window opens, you will see your name listed as the Moderator. We suggest that one moderator concentrates on the participants –the chat room, cueing the video, operating the platform. The second moderator is the one that actually does the presentation and clicks through the slides.
Some set up instructions:
Set up your webcam by hovering the mouse alongside the webcam icon, clicking the cog and following the prompts, allowing access to camera and microphone. On the dialogue box, make sure the microphone bit is ticked.
Set up your microphone. Click the microphone icon and follow the prompts, allowing access to camera and microphone.
On the tabs at the top of the desktop, click slide show, click start slide show, and then click the green arrow alongside the Guiding Orientation presentation. This will load the PowerPoint. Click the little cog icon for settings and set to advance on mouse click. (this only works when the mouse pointer is over the picture, not on the desktop).
Beside the title on the tabs there is a small white spot. Point your mouse at this and you will see it says change tab for me only. With two moderators, you could potentially both be changing the screens that the participants see. So while the presenter clicks through the slide show and talks, the second moderator could be preparing the movie, but must change tab for me only first so it doesn’t change the participants view.
On the tabs at the top of the desktop, click movie player, click start movie player, and then click the green arrow alongside the Girl Scouts Sybil Cannadine presentation. This will load the movie. You will need to press the pause button (and maybe rewind) till you are ready to show the movie.
![Page 2: Guiding Orientation Presentation · So while the presenter clicks through the slide show and talks, the second moderator could be preparing the movie, ... Practice sessions using](https://reader034.vdocuments.mx/reader034/viewer/2022042403/5f17954eee23296f6c2c8be1/html5/thumbnails/2.jpg)

Click the tool icon at the bottom right. Open the Audio Player, click the mp3 tab at the top, and click on the World Song.
Finally, when you are ready, adjust the speaker volume and click the microphone icon on the bottom left and you will be on air. (Make sure your computer and headset volumes are both on as well as the program’s volume!)
The poll questions are already loaded. Click the Tools button, select Instant Polls, click the arrow alongside Select from Favourites
While presenting…
While you are preparing, you can put up an e-curtain so that participants don’t see what you are doing if they log in early. It flashes a button on your desktop and when you are ready click the button and you will get a count-down till you are on the air. You can turn on your webcam (bottom left next to microphone) introduce yourselves and then turn off the webcam for the presentation. (You can leave it on, but it takes extra bandwidth, which might be a problem for your audience). When you turn off the webcam it turns off the microphone too, so you will have to turn it back on by clicking the microphone icon. (It will say ON AIR). Click the tools button for a timer that you can use to keep you on track and it moves so you can drag and drop it anywhere on your screen. Participants can’t see it. The script is in large type and bullet points, so it is easy to read as you present!! But it is bullet points, so rehearse what you want to say. Think about how you are coming across to the participants – halting, apologetic, unrehearsed. Practice first and then be excited, welcoming and enjoy presenting. Practice sessions using the Redback platform are easily arranged, but you must book so we don’t interrupt live sessions. Email the National L&D Manager on [email protected] Slides with this picture are to indicate that you have an instant poll question to launch or a break to talk to the 2nd moderator and ask for the questions that have come up in the chat box or to respond to someone with hands up. I found the chat part of the presentation really distracting when trying to present. You can hide them by clicking the tiny arrow on the dividing line and ask it to hide chat for presenter only. Please do not record the session as this costs extra. Instructions for closing the session are at the end.
