Introduction
ESES (Designing the Competence Profile of the European Supported Employment Specialist) is a Leonardo da Vinci Multilateral Project funded by the European Commission within the Lifelong Learning Programme. The main objective of the project is to define the competences and the professional profile of the European Supported Employment Specialist according to the guidelines set by the European Credit System of Vocational Education and Training (ECVET). This curriculum is based on the competency profile, training course as well as expertise check-‐up – developed and approved by partners of the ESES project. The curriculum covers all skills, knowledge and competencies a European Supported Employment Specialist needed to fulfil his/her job well and with high quality. All skills, knowledge and competencies are formulated in learning outcomes and matched with ECVET points. According to the ECVET guidelines, the curriculum will be structured in learning outcomes (what a learner should know, understand and be able to do on completion of a learning process) related to each of the training units of competence identified in the competence profile of the SES as well as the EUSE Toolkit. The certificate will be positioned at EQF level 4 and contains 30 ECVET points. Table 1: European Qualification Frame 4
For the certification as a European Supported Employment Specialist learners have to follow this process:
First the ESES will undergo the Expertise Check-‐up for the assessment, transfer, validation and accumulation of learning outcomes (under the form of ECVET points) achieved in formal, informal and non-‐formal contexts. Every participant in the pilot will be first analysed in terms of learning outcomes coherent with the ones in the profile already acquired. This way different ECVET points will be given to every participant. After the validation the participants start with the training course as basis for further learning in the missing learn areas.
4
The online training course is addressed to SESs that have already carried out the validation exercise. Based on the results of the validation, every candidate will follow different learning units to find out which knowledge, skills and competencies will be needed to achieve more ECVET points in the next check-‐up. References, Quizzes as well as the exchange with other European and National learners help and guided them to achieve more skills, knowledge and competencies in informal, non-‐formal (e.g. further work experiences) and formal contexts (e.g. the ESES training course) and finally to earn the missing ECVET points for the certification.
After passing the validation of non-‐formal/informal competencies, the ESES training course and further learning in different fields, which have to validated with another check-‐up, the SES will get his/her certificate based on the 30 ECVET points.
