3. Quota

▣ A limited number of students are offered admissions to each academic department or program.

▣ The department can refuse to receive students, if none of the applicants fulfil the

department's criteria. (Criteria may vary by department)

4. Eligibility ▣ Master's Degree and combined Master•Doctorate Degree - Applicants should meet one of the following eligibility clauses :

1) The applicant and both parents of the applicant must have a nationality other than Korean

and must have a Bachelor's degree or in the final year of the above degree program 2) The applicant must have completed or is expected to complete 16 years of primary and

secondary education (elementary to post-secondary) outside Korea and must have a

Bachelor's degree at the time of application.

▣ Doctorate Degree - Applicants should meet one of the following eligibility clauses : 1) The applicant and both parents of the applicant must have a nationality other than Korean

and must have a Master's degrees or in the final semester of the above degree program 2) The applicant must have completed or is expected to complete 16 years of primary and

secondary education (elementary to post-secondary) outside Korea and must have a Master’s degree at the time of application.

※ Students who have not graduated at the time of application must submit a certificate of graduation before entrance into our graduate school. Otherwise admission will be canceled.

▣ Korean, English Languages Proficiency(For Seoul Campus Only) (TOPIK Level for entrance and graduation will be raised from 2016 Spring Semester

admissions for international students.)1) Applicants who have obtained at least TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean) Level 3

(must obtain TOPIK Level 4 or above before dissertation examination)

2) Applicants should meet one of the following eligibility clauses and must obtain TOPIK

level 4 before dissertation examination. (1) Graduated (Bachelor's degree or higher) with a major in Korean in a foreign country

(2) Attended university or graduate school in Korea for more than 2 years

(3) Applicants who have equivalent official Korean Language proficiency as above

3) Applicants who obtained TOPIK Level 3 or under are subject to additional screening process depending on the department.

4) Applicants who have TOEFL(PBT 550, CBT 210, iBT 80), IELTS 6.0, TEPS 550 or equivalent official English exam score can apply regardless of Korean Language proficiency. (Applicants who are relevant above clause must register and complete a Korean language program in an institution that has been confirmed by the dean of the graduate school)

5) Regardless of clauses 1)~3) above, applicants who want to apply for the Department of

Communication and Journalism(Seoul campus) must attain a TOPIK level 5 or above, and

must obtain TOPIK level 6 within 6 months after admission.

▣ Some departments will hold an additional interview or performance test.

and prepare other procedures via the same method.

• Applicant can submit an application to one department and one campus only.

(Cannot be admitted to each campus simultaneously).

• The Graduate School of Kyung Hee University and Kyung Hee University are not responsible

for any disadvantages from typing errors and/or missing documents.

• The campus, department (Major) and course must be filled out exactly. Even though these are

incorrect, the applicant cannot revise the application after admission.

• All documents must be originals accompanied by translations and notarization in Korean or

English, if it is in another language.

- If original documents are unable to be reissued and the applicant wants to submit copied

documents, applicant must bring the original copy to compare the copy to the original for

certification.

- Every submitted document's date of issue must be within 3 months.

• Submitted documents and application fee will not be refunded under any circumstance.

• Applicant should submit other documents that Dean of Graduate school approved its

necessity.

• If any ineligible/unqualifying factors are found during screening, the applicant will be expelled

from admissions.

• An applicant submitting the Certificate of Entry & Departure Records should submit a full

record from birth until now. Any false records or double passports will result in the revocation

of the application and admission even after matriculation.

• Students who have not graduated at the time of application must submit a certificate of

graduation before entrance into our graduate school. Otherwise admission will be canceled.

• According to article 36 of the graduate school regulation in Kyung Hee University,

international students must have medical insurance upon admittance until the end of

graduation on your own expenses. Medical insurance fee will be included in the semester

tuition payment with student counsel fee, etc. (International students who do not have

medical insurance are excluded from any scholarship and various programs.)

• According to article 37 of the graduate school regulation in Kyung Hee University, all

international students must get a health examination. Medical examination fee will be

included in the semester tuition payment with student counsel fee, etc.

• Leave of absence for the first semester is not allowed. Also, only leave of absence owing to

circumstances beyond control such as disease is allowed while in school.

• The announcement for dormitory application(Seoul Campus) will be posted on the Graduate

School Website(http://gskh.khu.ac.kr) in July.

• The announcement for dormitory application(Global Campus) should contact Woojeongwon (dormitory on Global campus) in person. (Phone number : 031-201-3640)

• For successful applicants of Seoul Campus, an orientation course (will be held at the end of (August) and some seminars are mandatory. International students who do not attend these programs cannot get a scholarship and graduate.

• New students in the study fields of Science and Engineering, Medicine, and Arts are obliged to take the Safety Precaution Course.

A. All graduate students in the study fields of Science and Engineering, Medicine, Arts, and also students which take part in experiments are obliged to take the Safety Precaution Course according to the rules of the Safety Management Regulations.

1) Course Completion Required Time : 6 hour course per 6 months (online and offline courses) 2) Courses a) Online courses : 12 classes (1st semester 6 general classes / 2nd semester 6 selective classes) 3) Certificate of Completion a) Assessment test will be taken after the online courses and a score over 60% is required for completion b) Print 2 copies of the certification and keep 1 copy in the laboratory and submit 1 copy to the administration office. B. 10. Scholarships A. Applicants must receive B grade (3.0/4.3) or above to maintain a scholarship for the next semester. B. Entrance fees are excluded from all scholarships. C. Scholarships from educational expenditures for schools cannot exceed tuition fee. D. International students who do not have medical insurance cannot be scholarship grantees. (Medical insurance fee will be included in the semester tuition form.)

In addition to the graduation guidelines of each department, the student must publish an article as follows and submit the published certificate documents and reports of thesis screening to the graduate school office before dissertation examination.※ Students who do not fulfill the Terms of Scholarship cannot receive the degree.

※ Full refund if plagiarize. 1) Master's Courses • Humanities and Social Sciences, Arts and Physical Education : Publish more than one article in an academic journal which is higher than those registered in the NRF.(including co-author) • Natural and Applied Sciences, Medicine, Engineering : Publish more than one article in an academic journal which is higher than those registered in the SCI(E).
