Very Important Points for Agilent plate form testing

For new or Used Laptops ALWAYS ALWAYS • Disable or block firewall, security features on the Computers

Never ever install any new software on the Laptop except Agilent. After starting the car warm it up for a while then turn on the inverter. Before starting the test check all the cables, specially scanner cable for GPS and Scanner

Antenna cables or tight and safe. If you are going to different market, before leaving the base station, always check Dongles

key’s License expiration. Take with you any extra laptop, phone, air card, and GPS. Keep the Scanner Bar window open, keeping on comparing Scanner RSSI with Phones

RSSI.( Scanner RSSI is > than phones:e.g. -77 > -88) For FTP trouble Shoot, always start from AT Command, Check AT command in the modem

advance setting it should be defined For Chicago: AT+CGDCONT=1,”IP”,”isp.cingular” On Down load or Kit1, check for FTP down load, retrieving massage in sequence

window. If it is not there, check, FTP properties again. On Upload or Kit2, check for FTP upload, storing massage in sequence window If it is not there, check, FTP properties again. Live Mode: Shift +F4 Start recording: Mode F4 Stop recording: Shift +F9

Agilent Important Commands: AIRCARD and Phones For USB Configuration:

*#197328640# option 9__option 6__option 2 LOCK the phones TO UMTS/GSM/AUTO(To change the phone mode)

*#63895# or *#3685247*# To verify the PHONE mode (you can see on the phone screen)

*#0011# In order to prevent data on CS phones

1)Press *#3685247#*

2)Select ''Network & call settings'' 3) Select "Service Domain"

4) Select "CS"

5) Press ''Save``

This way you can verify Central frequency from the phone pad, by locking the phone to UMTS850 or UMTS1900 (In Chicago for UMTS850 it is 4384 and UMTS1900 is 612) (In Montreal, Canada for UMTS850 it is 1087(UMTS V(850 Mhz) and UMTS1900 is 587(UMTS II 1.9Ghz)) AT Command Air CARD Lock up

UE Settings to fix iRate sessions: Samsung A737 by following these simple steps.

Press/Select Menu > Settings(Option 9) > Connectivity (Option 7) > IMS Settings (Option 4) > Profiles (Option 2) and then select IMS and Save. The profile itself does not need to be edited.

Winsock Error:

TCP/IP is a set of communications protocol used for the internet and other similar networks. TCP/IP can sometimes get damaged or corrupted, in case you can't connect to the internet and have tried various other methods with no success, most probably corrupted TCP/IP is the reason behind it. As TCP/IP is a core windows component it can't be removed , however , it can be reset/repair to its original state by couple of methods mentioned below. Method 1:

1) Go to Start menu and open command prompt.

2) At the command prompt , copy and paste(or type) the following command and then press ENTER:

netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

When we run the reset command, it rewrites two registry keys that are used by TCP/IP. This has the same result as removing and reinstalling the protocol.

3) Reboot the computer and you should be all set.

Procedure to delete the cookies and clear the registry:

For Internet Explorer do the following steps:

1) Open internet explorer.

2) On the menu bar , click tools and select Internet Options.

3) Under Browsing history click Delete.

4) Select delete all.

Precautions for laptops:

• ALWAYS disable firewall, auto updates, screen-savers & security features on the laptops.

• Change the battery settings to “Never” for the entire power plan. • Disable shock sensor for hard disk drive by going to Control Panel. (Mostly found IBM

laptops). Precautions for Agilent kit & phones:

• Before starting the test check all the cables, especially scanner cable for GPS and Scanner antenna cables, which should tight and safe.

• Make sure to raise the laptops to ensure sufficient air flow for laptops to cool down (It helps increase the life of the laptop as well).

• Make sure to select USB configuration on Qualcomm Chipset phones. Dial: *#197328640# -> Option 9 -> Option 6 -> Select Qualcomm USB

General Precautions:

• Make sure all the hardware is getting enough power from the car battery through inverter.

• Make sure to tape the connected power cables to reduce short circuit risks. • Make sure to carry extra cables. • Make sure to save Scanner\Phone drivers on the laptops.

Agilent kit set-up:

• Install Agilent on the laptop. • Connect phones to the laptop. • Install “Scanner\Phone drivers” when prompted. • Insert Aircard, which will auto install its drivers. • Manually setup a dial-up connection. • Make a work space of Agilent (upload or download) with properties as per market

requirement. • Be sure to clone a template of the project in the same laptop for future convenience.

4) OPEN SIERRA WIRELESS WATCHER AND GOTO NETWORK NOW YOU CAN FIND NEW “HSDPATEST SETUP” SETTING ADDED IN NETWORK TAB

5) In HSDPA Test Setup . We need to do this in proper sequence

a) Enabled……… Yes

PLEASE DO NOT RESCAN BEFORE PUTTING RIGHT CHANNEL AS IF NOW

b) Channel Number is Centre frequency of 850 Band. As 850 Band usually camps on Rogers and we need to force Telus channel number in this case.

USE YOUR 850 BAND CENTRE FREQUENCY IN CHANNEL NUMBER.

c) Apply

d) Rescan Now…… Yes

Please give sufficient time for Compass to catch the right channel.

e) Press OK

Cross your fingers for Blue light on compass

Please check that following criterias are met when you do a Scope 2 stationary test.

Stationary TEST: For stationary test keep the following points in mind

1) Right scrambling code is isolated ( single SC serving)

2) Rx Power below -75

3) Download throughput more than 5500 kbps

4) Upload throughput more than 1200 kbps (to check upload throughput open device views - 0850PS- HSUPA throughput chart.

5) Ping - Time less than 70ms (milliseconds)

This is most important. Unfortunately you can not see ping time in Agilent for that you need to do this

a) connect to internet through dialup modem (HSPA_PS or any other you created)

b) open Start ------ Run-------- cmd------- this will open command/Dos prompt

c) type this to check ping time

ping -t 10.179.253.14

if ping is less than 70ms constantly then you can start test otherwise.....

d) open website www.google.com and check whether ping time become ok if yes then you should keep that Google website open and when Agilent start connecting for ping just refresh the Google page. make sure you don’t pass 3/4 pings before you refresh.

6) Attach / Detach test are with 15 sec wait time between each other so in both test put wait time 15 seconds.

7) Don’t forget to do manual video calls.

3) Remove previous modem created with C888 on PC (control panel -> phone and modems options):

4) Uninstall all COM ports created for the Sierra C888 on PC called Sierra Wireless Application Interface and Sierra Wireless Diagnostic Interface (control panel -> System -> Hardware TAB -> Device Manager -> Ports (COM&LPT)):

5) Remove previous watcher installed on PC (control panel -> add or remove programs):

6) Delete in program files the directory of the 3G watcher and the True Install

7) Install new Watcher with following file downloaded previously (C888 should be physically disconnected from PC):

Watcher_Generic_2062.msi

8) Disconnect all modems from PC and have C888 physically connected alone with Watcher OFF (Watcher will start automatically during FW upgrade). Double click FW upgrade file and C888 will be detected and FW download and upgrade will start (upgrade file: BZ16435_K2_0_6_5BT_K2_0_6_7AP_EnableDirectIp.exe). This will take 10 to 20 minutes, PC activity should be minimized and C888 should not be ejected during the upgrade.

9) With C888 still physically connected on PC, run the following exe file to enable DM port and dialup modem. Those ports are mandatory for drive test data collection with Agilent:

10) The above FW allows HSDPA cat8 (7.2Mbps max) with no further action

11) The above FW allows HSUPA cat5 (2.1Mbps max) with no further action

12) Upgrade to HSUPA cat6 (5.76Mbps) is possible with following AT command (using AT com port of the device) but this FW is running on a Beta release for HSUPA cat6:

AT!HSUCAT=5 (limit capability back to HSUPA cat5)

13) Monitoring tool is available to force bands and verify key indicators from the C888 (exe file below).

RSCP = Received Signal Code Power = UE Aggregate Ec (dbm) and this roughly correlates to SC Analyzer Aggregate Ec (dbm).

Step 1: For UE

RSCP by opening a data items panel for the UE, expanding the data items, expanding the data item called UMTS Pilot Channel and selecting Active RSCP (dbm). Open a common view, a bar chart, and then drag and drop the Active RSCP data item into the bar chart. This will look just like the Top N SC Ec/Io view, except that you will see RSCP (dbm) versus common pilot channel CPICH (Ec/Io) which is shown in the Top N Sc Ec/Io view.

Step 2 : Scanner

Aggregate Ec (dbm) in the Scrambling Code Analyzer, open a common receiver bar chart view. Expand the data items under the W-CDMA Scrambling Code Analyzer, expand W-CDMA Top N Scrambling Codes, select SC Agg Ec and drag and drop it into your receiver bar chart view.

some reason any one of test fails, we have to re do the entire test again.
