Gabriela Oana Chiorean, Mezzo-Sopran (1997, Rumänien/Romania) Deutsch: Die in Cluj-Napoca geborene rumänische Mezzosopranistin, Gabriela Chiorean, studiert im dritten Jahr an der Musikakademie «Gh.Dima» mit Schwerpunkt Opernaufführung unter der Leitung von Florin Estefan. Sie wuchs in einer Künstlerfamilie auf und absolvierte zunächst ihr Studium im Hauptfach Violine an der Hochschule für Musik «S.Toduță». Während ihres Studiums wurde Gabriela als Mitwirkende der Nationalen rumänischen Oper Cluj-Napoca aufgenommen, und trat in Ensemble-Rollen in über einem Dutzend Opern-Produktionen auf. Bei den Premieren der Produktionen «Il trittico – Suor Angelica Maestra delle Novizie» von G. Puccini sowie der rumänischen Operette «Lăsați-mă să cânt» («Lass mich singen») von Gherase Dendrino

Dima». / English: Born in Cluj-Napoca, Romanian Mezzo-Soprano Gabriela Chiorean is a 3rd year student at the Academy of Music “Gh. Dima” majoring in Opera Performance, under the guidance of Florin Estefan. Growing up in a family of artists, she has graduated as a principal study the Violin at the College of Music “S.Toduță”. During her undergraduate studies, Gabriela was accepted as a collaborating artist at the National Romanian Opera Cluj-Napoca performing in over a dozen opera titles in an ensemble role, as well as a soloist for the premiers of “Il trittico – Suor Angelica Maestra delle Novizie” by G. Puccini and Romanian Operetta “Lăsați-mă să cânt” (Let me sing) by Gherase Dendrino. Future and recent engagements include Miss Todd - The Old Maid and the Thief, Cherubino - Le nozze di Figaro and Rosina - Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the Academy of Music “Gh. Dima”.

Renee Fajardo, Mezzo-Sopran (1994, Philippinen/Philippines) Deutsch: Renee Fajardo wurde in Manila auf den Philippinen geboren und erlangte erst kürzlich ihren Abschluss an der Guildhall School of Music and Drama, wo Sie mit Susan Waters studierte. 2017 gewann Sie den ersten Preis des «Courtney Kenny Award» und trat im Dezember desselben Jahres beim «London Song Festival» auf. Ebenfalls in diesem Jahr wurde sie mit der «Stonevale Concert Series» und dem «City Lit Institute Prize» der «Musical Odyssey Masterclasses» in Griechenland ausgezeichnet. In Manila sang sie unter anderem als Chorsängerin in «La Bohème» (MusicArtes Inc.), in «L’elisire d’amore» (Filfest Cultural Foundation) und ein Werk des Philippinischen Komponisten Felipe de Leon «Noli me Tangere» (Resort World Manila).

Ausserdem konzertierte sie mit dem VivaVoce Ensemble und ist eine regelmässige Solistin des Manila Symphony Orchestra. Im Sommer 2018 war sie Stipendiatin des Toronto Summer Music Festival und trat in einem Konzert am Mozarteum in Salzburg auf. Im Mai dieses Jahres wirkte sie mit bei einem Projekt des Barbican Center’s London im Rahmen des Sound Unbound Festival mit dem Street Orchestra Live. Ab Herbst dieses Jahres wird sie als Stipendiatin ihre musikalische Ausbildung im Opernstudio der Universität von Toronto bei Elizabeth Mcdonald fortsetzen. Renee wird gefördert von der «National Commission of Culture and the Arts of the Philippines». / English: Renee Fajardo was born in Manila, Philippines and recently graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, where she studied with Susan Waters. In that year she was also awarded the Stonevale Concert Series and the City Lit Institute Prizes in the Musical Odyssey Masterclasses in Greece. In Manila, she performed in the choruses of La Boheme (MusicArtes Inc.), L’elisir d’amore (Filfest Cultural Foundation) and Filipino composer Felipe de Leon’s Noli me Tangere (Resorts World Manila). She concertized widely with the VivaVoce Ensemble and was a recurring soloist of the Manila Symphony Orchestra. In summer 2018, Renee was a fellow at the Toronto Summer Music Festival and performed in concert at the University of Music and Dramatic Arts Mozarteum in Salzburg. In May this year, she performed at the Barbican Centre’s Sound Unbound Festival with Street Orchestra Live. This fall, she will be joining the Opera School of the University of Toronto under scholarship, studying with Elizabeth Macdonald. Renee is a grantee of the National Commission of Culture and the Arts of the Philippines.

Shelén Hughes, Sopran (1996, Bolivien/Bolivia) Deutsch: Die bolivianische Sopranistin Shelén Hughes ist der festen Überzeugung, dass Bildung, sozialer Dienst und die Musik zu den zentralen Werten des Lebens gehören. Zu ihren jüngsten Erfolgen gehören «Snegurochka» von Rimsky-Korsakov’s «Snegurochka» (Manhattan School of Music), «Micaëla» in Bizet’s «Carmen» (Chautauqua Institution), «Magda» in Puccini’s «La Rondine» und ihr Carnegie Hall Solo Debut im April 2019. Hughes erhielt 2017 den ersten Preis sowie den Publikums-Preis des Harlem Opera Theater Wettbewerbs und zählte 2018 zu den Preisträgern des SAI Wettbewerbs im Chautauqua Institutes. Shelén Hughes ist Gründerin der internationalen gemeinnützigen Organisation «Voices for Bolivia», durch die

finanzielle Unterstützung für Kinder, Frauen und ältere Menschen in Not in Bolivien ausschliesslich durch musikalische Events gesammelt wird. Sie erhielt an der Manhattan School of Music ihren Bachelor of Music mit Auszeichnung, als auch das «2018-19 Mae Zenke Orvis Opera»-Stipendium und studiert derzeit bei Ashley Putnam. / English: Bolivian Soprano, Shelén Hughes passionately believes in education, social service and music as a core value in life. Previous credits include Snegurochka from Rimsky-Korsakov’s Snegurochka (Manhattan School of Music), Micaëla in Bizet’s Carmen (Chautauqua Institution), Magda in Puccini’s La Rondine and her Carnegie Hall soloist debut in April of 2019. Ms. Hughes was awarded 1st place and people's choice award in the Harlem Opera Theater competition in 2017 and was a winner in the SAI competition at the Chautauqua Institution in 2018. Ms. Hughes is the founder of Voices for Bolivia, an international non-profit organization for children, woman and elderly in need in Bolivia, fully funded by classical music. She graduated with her BM receiving the honorary Hugh Ross award from the Manhattan school of Music, is a recipient of the 2018-19 Mae Zenke Orvis Opera Scholarship and is studying with Ashley Putnam.

Amelle Parys, Sopran (1993, Frankreich/France) Deutsch: Amelle Parys wurde 1993 in einem Vorort von Paris in Frankreich geboren. Im Alter von 5 Jahren begann sie mit dem Musikstudium am Departement Conservatoire von Blanc-Mesnil in den Fächern Klavier, Viola und Chor. Nachdem sie ein Praktikum als künstlerische und musikalische Leiterin des Pasdeloup Orchester absolviert hatte, und am regionalen Konservatorium von Aubervilliers ihren Abschluss in den Fächern Pianoforte und Musiktheorie gemacht hatte, setzte sie ihre Studien im Fach Gesang fort, indem sie ein Opernprogramm am Höheren Vokalinstitut von Burgund absolvierte. Während des Meisterkurses hatte sie die hervorragende Gelegenheit, mit Jean-Pierre Blivet (Lehrer von Natalie Dessay), Christian Segaricci (Dirigent), Bojidar Nikolov

Amelle Parys wurde zu zahlreichen Konzerten und Festivals eingeladen, wie zum Beispiel zum Nizza Festival C'est pas classique. Sie war zudem Finalistin mehrerer internationaler Gesangswettbewerbe und gewann den 1. Preis beim Gesangswettbewerb Ljuba Welitsch in Wien im Jahr 2017. / English: Amelle Parys was born in 1993 in the suburbs of Paris, France. At the age of 5, she started studying piano, viola, music theory, and choir at the Departmental Conservatoire of Blanc-Mesnil, France. After having completed an internship in artistic and musical direction of the Pasdeloup Orchestra and obtaining her degrees at Regional Conservatoire of Aubervilliers in Pianoforte and Music Theory, Amelle went on to continue her singing studies by integrating an opera program at the Higher Vocal Institut of Burgundy. In several masterclasses, she got the opportunity to work with masters, such as Jean-Pierre Blivet (teacher of Nathalie Dessay), the conductor Christian Segaricci, the tenor Bojidar Nikolov, the conductor Peter Valentovic, the soprano Sylvie Valayre and the mezzo-soprano Jennifer Larmore. Frequently invited to numerous concerts and festivals, as the Nice Festival C’est pas classique, Amelle Parys was finalist of several international vocal competitions and winner of the first prize at Ljuba Welitsch Singing Competition in Vienna in 2017.

Javiera Saavedra, Lyric Sopran (1993, Chile/Chile) Deutsch: Die chilenische Sopranistin studierte an der Universidad de Chile (2013-2018) und perfektioniert ihren Gesang derzeit am International Opera Studio Pesaro, Italien (2019-2020). Sie ist Gewinnerin des zweiten Preises beim internationalen Wettbewerb Città di Pesaro (Italien 2019) sowie Gewinnerin der Besten Interpretation des chilenischen Kompositionspreises beim internationalen Wettbewerb Dr. Luis Sigall (Chile 2018). Ihre berufliche Erfahrung umfasst Rollen wie Pamina (Italien 2019), Papagena und 3. Hugo Santos, Bass-Bariton, (1992, Frankreich/France) Deutsch: Hugos musikalische Laufbahn begann zunächst mit dem Klavier. Als er 13 Jahre alt war, spielte er dann bereits in der Oper «Carmen». Darauf folgten zahlreiche weitere Partien, z.B. in «La fille du Régiment», in «Don Pasquale» in «Mireille» oder «Athalia». Gegenwärtig studiert er lyrischen Gesang im Konservatorium von Bordeaux mit der Sopranistin Maryse Castets. Er ist bereits mit dem Orchester «Le Balcon» und dem Ensemble «Diderot» als Herode in «San Giovanni Battista von Stradella» aufgetreten. In diesem Jahr sang er die Rolle des Stuhls und des Baums in «l’Enfant et les sortilègres» von Maurice Ravel, wirkte mit im «Messiah» von Händel an der Bordeaux Opera unter der Regie von Marc Minkowski, sowie in der «Messe in D» von Dvorak. / English:

Hugo started his music career with the piano. He made his debuts at the opera with “Carmen” when he was 13 years old, then he sang in a dozen productions, such as “La fille du Régiment”, “Don Pasquale”, “Mireille”, or “Athalia”. Currently, he is studying lyric singing at the Conservatoire of Bordeaux in the class of Maryse Castets. Concertwise, he had the chance to work with the orchestra “le Balcon” and the “Ensemble Diderot” where he sang the role of Herode in San Giovanni “Battista of Stradella”. This year he also sang in Bordeaux the role of Le Fauteuil and L'arbre in “l’Enfant et les Sortileges” of Ravel, the “Messiah” of Händel – directed by Marc Minkowski – in the Opera of Bordeaux and the “Mess in D” of Dvorak.

Sophie Schwerthoeffer, Sopran (1999, Deutschland/Germany) Deutsch: Durch ihre Teilnahme im Alter von 6 Jahren am Unterricht des «Opera School Projects» Gelsenkirchen unter der Leitung der Sängerin Chris Seidler entdeckte Sophie ihre Leidenschaft für den Gesang. Die «Opera School» sowie der regelmässige Klavierunterricht war die Grundlage für Sophies weitere künstlerische Entwicklung. Im Alter von 10 Jahren stand Sophie das erste Mal mit dem Lied «Raabe Jakob» auf einer grossen Bühne. Anlass war ein Gedenkkonzert zum 10. Todestag von Yehudi Menuhin in Marl. Sophies erste Single «La via per la luce» erschien im Jahre 2012, womit sie am 1.9.2012 in der Fernsehsendung «Willkommen bei Carmen Nebel» (ZDF) auftrat. 2013 nahm Sophie beim Wettbewerb «Das Supertalent» (RTL) teil. Sie kam bis ins Finale

mit Arien von Puccini. Im Jahre 2014 nahm Sophie an dem Wettbewerb «Jugend musiziert» teil, wo sie im Regionalwettbewerb den 1. Platz belegte. 2015 wurde Sophie von der Sir Peter Ustinov Stiftung zur ersten Junior Botschafterin ernannt. Es ist ihr eine Herzensangelegenheit, sich für andere Kinder in Not einzusetzen. Im Mai 2014 wurde mit Sophie auch die «Children of the World»-Kampagne der Ustinov Stiftung gestartet. Seit 2016 wird sie als Jungstudentin von Prof. Gudrun Pelker mit den Schwerpunkten Oper und Operette unterrichtet. Im August 2018 nahm Sophie am «Singkontest Opera Grand Avignon» in Avignon, Frankreich teil und belegte im Finale den zweiten Platz. Im Oktober 2018 nahm Sie am Bundeswettbewerb Gesang teil. / English: Sophie discovered her passion for singing at the age of 6 by participating in a class of the “Opera school projects” Gelsenkirchen under the direction of singer Chris Seidler. The basis for Sophie's further artistic development was attending the “Opera School” as well as the regular piano lessons. The first time that Sophie was standing on a big stage, was at the age of 10 performing the song “Raabe Jakob”. The occasion was a Memorial Concert for the 10th anniversary of the death of Yehudi Menuhin in Marl. Sophie's first single “La via per la luce” was released in 2012, with which she appeared in the TV show “Wilkommen bei Carmen Nebel” (ZDF) on 1 September 2012. In 2013 Sophie took part in the German talent show “Das Supertalent” (RTL) and went through to the finals with arias by Puccini. In 2014 Sophie participated in the “Jugend musiziert” contest, where she won the first place at that regional competition. In 2015, Sophie was

appointed Junior Ambassador by Sir Peter Ustinov Foundation for the first time. It is a matter close to her heart to support children in need. In May 2014 the Sir Ustinov Foundation launched the “Children of the world” campaign involving Sophie. Since 2016 Sophie is a young student of Prof. Gudrun Pelker and taught by her with focus on opera and operatta. In 2018 participated in “Singkontest Opera Grand Avingnon” in Avingon, France, where she won the second prize at the final.

Dora Sorrentino, Sopran (1995, Italien/Italy) Deutsch: Die Sopranistin Dora Sorrentino hat am Konservatorium S. Pietro a Majella in Neapel, Italien, Klavier studiert. Derzeit ist sie dort im Masterstudiengang für Gesang eingeschrieben. Im Jahr 2016 begann sie ihr Gesangsstudium bei ihrer Mutter, der Sopranistin Margherita Pucillo. Sie besuchte die Meisterkurse von Giulio Zappa, Luciana D'Intino, Elisabetta Fiorillo, Simone Alaimo, Mireille Alcantara und Paoletta Marrocu. Ihr Debütkonzert in London im S. Clemens Danes Covent Garden gab sie im März 2017. Seitdem trat sie bei vielen Veranstaltungen und Konzerten in Italien und Frankreich auf. Im vergangenen Dezember debütierte sie als Fiorilla in Il Turco in Italien für das internationale Koproduktionsprojekt La magia dell'Opera für die Feierlichkeiten Rossini 150 am Italian Cultural Institute of London. / English: Soprano Dora Sorrentino is graduated in piano at the Conservatorio S. Pietro a Majella in Naples, Italy, where she is currently enrolled in the Master course for Voice. In 2016, she started studying singing with her mother, soprano Margherita Pucillo. She attended the Masterclasses of Giulio Zappa, Luciana D’Intino, Elisabetta Fiorillo, Simone Alaimo, Mireille Alcantara and Paoletta Marrocu. She made her debut recital in London at S. Clemens Danes Covent Garden in March 2017. Since then she performed in many events and concerts in Italy and France. She is a winner of the 2018 edition of Simone Alaimo Competition Il bel canto, debuting as Contessa d’Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro at Etna Opera Festival 2018. She was a member of the Opera Studio 2018/19 of the Teatro Coccia in Novara, Italy, where she studied all soprano roles for Gianni Schicchi. Last December she debuted as Fiorilla in Il Turco in Italia for the international co-production project La magia dell’Opera for the celebrations Rossini 150 at the Italian Cultural Institute of London.

Anna Amanda Stolere, Sopran (2000, Lettland/Letvia) Deutsch: Anna Amanda Stolere (2000) wurde in Riga, Lettland, geboren. Sie studiert gerade im 3. Jahr akademischen Gesang und Chordirigieren an der Rigaer Domchor-Schule, der Nationalen Schule der Künste. Ihre Leidenschaft galt immer schon der Musik – das wurde bereits in jungen Jahren durch ihre Teilnahme an verschiedenen Musikwettbewerben und Projekten im Bereich des Gesangs und des Klavierspiels sichtbar. Anna hat an verschiedenen musikalischen Projekten teilgenommen: «Let’s play the opera - The Little sweep» von B. Britten (Lettische Nationaloper) 2013, XXVII Sigulda Opernfestival, Singen an der Evangelisch-Lutherischen Kirche in Sigulda (Lettland) und Singen mit der Gruppe «Riga Voices» 2018. Zu den letzten

Studying academical singing and choral conducting in “National School of Arts” Riga Cathedral Choir School III course. Her passion has always been music, which became apparent at a young age through her participation in various music contests and projects related to vocal singing and piano playing. Anna has participated in various musical projects - “Letˈs play the opera - The Little sweep” by B. Britten (the Latvian National Opera) 2013, XXVII Sigulda Opera Festival, singing in the Evangelical Lutheric church of Sigulda (Latvia) and singing with vocal ensemble “Riga Voices” 2018. Recent events included: participation and 2nd prize winner of the V International Giulio Perotti Vocal Competitionin Ikermunde (Germany), assessed by the Latvia Ministry of Culture recognition letter, and 3rd place of the Kohtla-Järve XIV International Competition for Children and Youth in Academic Singing in Kohtla-Järve (Estonia). From the beginning of 2018, she has been developing skills in Latvia’s Technical University mixed choir “Vivere”, where Anna performs as a conductor and choirmaster.

Dongfang Xie, Baryton (1994, China/China) Deutsch: Dongfang Xie schloss sein Bachelorgesangsstudium am Xinghai Consevatorium of Music in China ab. Er erhielt von seiner Hochschule ein Stipendium für exzellente Leistungen und durfte als Kontaktstudent an der Staatlichen Hochschule für Musik und darstellender Kunst Mannheim, sein Studium fortsetzen. Seit 2017 studiert der junge Bariton als Master-Student in der Gesangsklasse von Krisztina Laki und Thomas Mohr an der Hochschule für Künste Bremen. 2018 erhielt er ein Stipendium der HFK Bremen. 2017 war Dongfang Xie Semifinalist beim 18 Maritim Musikpreis, Timmendorfer Strand. Im Sommer 2018 sang er in der HFK Produktion «Die Hochzeit des Figaro» den Grafen und im Herbst des gleichen Jahres erhielt er ein Gastengagement am

Theater Bremen in Verdi’s «Ein Maskenball» als Cristiano ein Matrose. Im Sommer 2019 wird er in der HFK Produktion «Die Zauberflöte» als Papageno auftreten. / English: Dongfang Xie finished the Bachelor of Music Voice at the Xinghai Conservatory in China. He got a Scholarship from the Conservatory and an Award for Students with the best Performance. After the Bachelor studies he continued the studies as a Contact Student at the University of Music and Performance Arts in Mannheim, Germany. Since 2017, he’s been studying Master of Music: Vocal Performance at the University of Arts Bremen Germany, as a young Baritone in the Course Vocal Performance with Prof. Thomas Mohr and Prof. Krisztina Laki. 2017 he was participant at the Semi Final from the 18. Maritim Musikpreis, Timmendorfer Strand Germany. 2018 he got the scholarship from the “Deutschland-Stipendium” from University of Arts Bremen Germany. In summer 2018 he has sung the role of Count Amaviva (Mozart „Le Nozze de Figaro“) in the Opera Project from the University Bremen and at the same year got an Opera engagement from the Theater Bremen am Goetheplatz in the Verdi Opera “Un ballo in maschera” as the Sailor Cristiano. In summer 2019, he will sing the role Papageno in the new HFK University Opera Production “Die Zauberflöte”.

Deutsch: Sim So Young studierte Klavier an der Sook Myung Universität von Seoul und später in Italien, wo sie Abschlüsse in Klavier, Cembalo, Kammermusik und Korrepetition erwarb. Als Korrepetitorin war sie in verschiedenen Meisterkursen tätig. 2008 begann sie ihre berufliche Karriere in verschiedenen Opern-Produktionen u.a. So Young wurde mehrmals engagiert in renommierten Opernhäuser und Festivals u.a. Salzburger Festspiele, Teatro alla Scala, Gstaad Menuhin Festival, Grand Théâtre de Monte Carlo, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Edinburgh Festival, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées und Baden Baden. / English: Sim So Young studied piano at the Sook Myung University of Seoul and later in Italy, where she obtained degrees in piano, harpsichord, chamber music and accompaniment. She has worked as a répétiteur in various master classes. In 2008 she began her professional career in various opera productions including Così fan tutte, Le nozze di Figaro, Cenerentola, La donna del lago, Ariodante, Giulio Cesare, Norma, Fidelio, Otello, Tosca. Since 2012 she has been working with various famous conductors and artists such as: Giovanni Antonini, Ottavio Dantone, Gianandrea Noseda, Jean-Christophe Spinosi, Cecilia Bartoli, Rolando Villazón, Maria Guleghina, Dimitra Theodossiu, Maria Dragoni, Alessandro Corbelli, Paata Burchuladze and Giorgio Surian.
