(for FIO)”GS 33Q06Q10-31E “Node Units (for FIO)”GS 33P06Q01-31E “FIO System Overview (for

AFV10)”

● Advanced Process Control Station (APCS)An APCS advanced process control station implementscontrol functions with a general-purpose PC connected toa Vnet/IP, aimed at improving advanced control and plantefficiency. For this purpose, install LFS1200 APCS controlfunctions. Use VI701 Control Bus Interface Card forconnection to Vnet/IP. For more details, see APCS ControlFunctions General Specifications (publication GS33Q03M10-31E).

● Generic Subsystem Gateway Package(GSGW)

With a general-purpose PC connected to a Vnet/IP,GSGW packages can collect and set data of various typesof subsystems using an OPC DA server. They can easilycollect and set subsystem data without creating dedicatedcommunications programs.

Install LFS1250 Generic Subsystem Gateway Package.Use VI701 Control Bus Interface Card for connections toVnet/IP. For more details, see publication GS 33Q03P10-31E.

● Safety Instrumented Systems (ProSafe-RS)(*1)

ProSafe-RS has been approved by German safety testlabs TÜV (Technische Überwachungs Verein) as the SIS(Safety Instrumented System) that meets SIL (SafetyIntegrity Levels) 3 established by IEC 61508.

The SCS (Safety Control Station) for ProSafe-RS monitorsthe safety state of plants and performs predeterminedsafety operation according to each request for safetycontrol. The SENG (Safety Engineering PC) performsengineering and maintenance of SCS. Moreover, ProSafe-RS can be integrated with CENTUM CS 3000 R3 andenables operation and monitoring of SCS from HIS.

For details, refer to GS 32S51B10-01E “Safety Instru-mented Systems ProSafe-RS System Overview (Vnet/IPEdition)”.

● Vnet/IPVnet/IP is IEEE802.3 compliant control bus configured withdual-redundant busses. Each dual-redundant bus isconfigured with a layer 2 switch (*1) with the maximumtransmission speed of 1Gbps and 1000BASE-T cablesand devices in a domain are connected in star connectionor tree connection.

Vnet/IP dual-redundant bus 1 is exclusively used forcontrol communication and bus 2 is used not only forcontrol communication but for open communication by avarious kind of standard protocol based on Ethernet. Bus2 enables data access by Exaopc OPC interface andcommunications based on TCP/IP protocol.

General-purpose, commercially available products areused for network device such as repeaters, cables, layer 2switches and layer 3 switches for Vnet/IP.

In Vnet/IP, IPv4, ClassC private address is used as IPaddress for communication. (Some ClassB privateaddress is also used.)

*1: Layer 2 switch is a switching HUB with a bridgefunction and it does not send data to terminals otherthan destination. Using layer 2 switch reduces bustraffic.

● Layer 3 SwitchLayer 3 switch is a network device to connect Vnet/IPdomains. It has path control by IP address and a routingfunction to relay communication frame in two domainswhen necessary. Use layer 3 switch which relayscommunication frame by hardware at high speed. Use all-purpose, commercially available layer 3 switch.

Oct. 27, 2006-00

● Boundary RouterBoundary router is a network device to connect Vnet/IPwith external network such as in-house LAN. Bus 2 isused for connection with external network. Boundaryrouter needs to have firewall function to protect CS 3000from the threat of external network. Use all-purpose,commercially available boundary router.

● V net RouterA V net router is a device to connect a Vnet/IP domain anda V net domain for relaying control communications. Thisrouter realizes operation and monitoring of a controlstation in one domain from another domain by connectingthe Vnet/IP and V net domains. The following product isavailable:

AVR10D: Duplexed V net Router (for redundant use ofcommunications and power supply modules)

For the hardware specifications, see publication GS33P06H10-31E.

● SNTP ServerWhen synchronizing the time of the Vnet/IP station withUTC (Coordinated Universal Time), the SNTP server isconnected.

● PeripheralsSince an HIS supports Microsoft Windows 2000, WindowsXP, Windows 2000 Server or Windows Server 2003,windows-compatible peripherals, such as printers, can beused. Consult Yokogawa for more details on peripheralsthat can be used with an HIS.

up to 1,000,000 per system)Number of tags that can be entered in one HIS: Up to

100,000 (*1)*1: When a system is configured as CENTUM CS 3000

Entry Class; however, the maximum number of tagsshall be 8,000.

● Minimum SystemA minimum system consists of one HIS and one FCS.

● Maximum SystemIn a CENTUM CS 3000 system, a system within an areathat does not communicate via devices such as routers, layer 3 switches, or the like is called a domain. Up to 64Vnet/IP-enabled devices per domain can be connected. Our Vnet/IP-enabled devices include equipment withVI701 (control bus interface cards) incorporated in ageneral-purpose PC, FCS for Vnet/IP and V net routers. The following lists our specific Vnet/IP-enabled devices:

Human Interface Station (HIS)Field Control Station (FCS)Advanced Process Control Station (APCS)Generic Subsystem Gateway (GSGW)System Integration OPC Station (SIOS)Safety Instrumented Systems (ProSafe-RS)OPC Interface Package (Exaopc) OPC server

Field Communications Server for Plant ResourceManager (PRM)

V net Router (AVR10D)On the bus-2 side, up to 124 general-use Ethernet devices(including intelligent network devices) other than listedabove can be connected.

● Expanded SystemA layer 3 switch allows a hierarchical construction withother Vnet/IP domains. In addition, a V net router allowsconnection to a system using other V nets or VL nets.Existing systems (via an HF-bus or RL-bus) cannot bedirectly connected to a Vnet/IP network. These systemscan be connected via a BCV on a V net. A hierarchicalconnection using a layer 3 switch and a V net router allowsa system expansion that exceeds the maximum systemindicated in the previous section. In other words, hierarchi-cal connections of other control systems allow hierarchicalsystem expansion at the core of CENTUM CS 3000.

Total number of interconnected domains: Up to 16(Vnet/IP domains + V net domains)

Hierarchical connections by V net router: Three-levelcontrol bus hierarchy, i.e., three control buslevels, linked by two bus converters

Number of tag names: Max. of 100,000 (up to 1,000,000per system when using LHS4000)

Connecting devices: V net routers and bus convertersNote that the levels of Vnet/IP domains on an accessrouter and the levels of V net routers are not counted whenhierarchical connections are restricted.

■ Vnet/IP NETWORK SPECIFICATIONSThe Vnet/IP is a real-time process control network used to connect system components. The Vnet/IP supports two types ofcommunications: control-bus communications and open communications. The Vnet/IP is always dual-redundant. Usually, control bus communications are carried out via bus 1. Open communications are carried out via bus 2. If a control communi-cations error occurs at the bus-1 side, control bus communications will be carried out via bus 2. The Vnet/IP uses general-purpose communications devices for network connection.

Figure Network Configuration

● Connection within a DomainIn a system used with the Vnet/IP, sections separated by communications devices, such as routers, layer 3 switches, etc.,are called domains. One domain allows the connection of up to 64 of our Vnet/IP-based devices including the FCS, HIS, etc.In addition, a maximum of 124 devices, which includes switches, routers, etc., can be connected in configuring a networkwith Ethernet devices other than our Vnet/IP-based devices.

Devices in a domain are connected in a star or tree-like fashion at the core of a layer 2 switch. A dual-redundant Vnet/IP busis an independent subnet for each line; therefore, a layer 2 switch should be installed in each line. Up to seven levels of layer2 switch connections can be connected in a domain.

● Inter-domain ConnectionGeneral-use layer 3 switches allow connections between Vnet/IP domains. Up to 16 domains can be connected.

Up to 15 level (16-hierarchical) connections of Vnet/IP domains can be connected.

Two types of Vnet/IP domain connections are possible: bidirectional and hierarchical connections. In bidirectional connec-tions, HIS's in both domains can perform operation and monitoring of the other domain.

Bidirectional ConnectionBoth HIS's can perform operation and monitoring of the other domain. Stations in both domains can receive and send FCSand HIS messages.

Hierarchical ConnectionHierarchical domain relations are established. The HIS of a high-order domain can operate and monitor a low-order domain.FCS and HIS messages generated in a low-order domain can be accepted by a station in a high-order domain. A V netconversion router allows connection to a system connected to a V net. Connection to an existing system (via an HF-bus orRL-bus) connected with a BCV via a V net is also possible.
