CHURCH VOTES YES on NEW PROJECT!

In a business meeting conducted on June 01, 2014,

the church voted to move forward with a building

campaign to raise $25,000 during the next six months to

purchase and install new play equipment for our children

and neighboring families.

Over the next six months we are asking people to

donate monies over and above their regular tithe in order

that we may reach our communities children for Christ.

There will be several forthcoming fundraisers as well as

pledge cards for everyone to commit to helping fulfill The

Great Commission by reaching our Jerusalem.

There are pictures and plans available for anyone

who wishes to view the forthcoming project. We stand at

the threshold of a new time for our church, will you walk

through that door and help us reach the next generation

for Christ?

Hello friends and family,

Hope all is well in Mississippi. I thought I would write this month's

letter to you from Billings, Montana. The team of 53 men and women

from six different churches are blessed beyond measure. We have had a

great week with lots of work and a wonderful working spirit among the

people. The weather has been unbelievable with temperatures as low as 47 degrees. Yellow Stone Bible

college is now ready to take there school to the next level. I mean they now can become a credited

college with updated facilities. I want to thank the team from GMBC that worked hard and gave 110

% every time they were asked. Thank you Tony, Shawn, Mrs. Stephanie, Mrs. Laurie, Mr. Bill, Dr.

Paul and especially Wyatt. Y'all would have been just as proud as I was to see him work. Great Job

and Kudos to the team for making my job so easy. We plan to show pictures and talk about the trip on

Sunday night June 8 at six o'clock. Thank you for your prayers and the support for the team. Just a

note to those who did not go and wanted to go there will be another opportunity in the future so start

praying now for God to open a door.

Congratulations to Courtney, and Chuck Welch for their brand new baby girl God brought into this

world Thursday. Her name is Carson Elizabeth Welch and she weighed 7lbs 1 oz and is 19&1/4" long.

We are so excited for this family and I know Marty and Cathy are on cloud nine.

Well I look forward to coming home and telling you all that God has done, but until then keep serving

The Lord.

We thank God for the ten years of service that Bro. Andrew Nordquist has given GMBC. We will have

a pot luck meal for him after the Sunday Night service June 8.

We also thank God for the seven years of service that Bro. Steve Frederick has given GMBC. We are

thankful for you.

Hello Church Family

As I sit here and write this article, I cannot believe that I have

we have enjoyed seven years of ministry together. Where has the time

gone? What a road it has been, but one thing for sure, God has been

there at every turn and He has carried us through the twists and turns

Satan has thrown our way and we give God the glory for all the things

He has done in His church. We also want to congratulate our brother

and fellow minister, Andrew Nordquist, as he has faithfully served as Student Pastor for 10 years.

Wow Andrew and still no gray hairs, does Clairol know the secret? Ha ha

Summer has arrived and school is out. Can you believe it is hear already. If not just step

outside into the heat and humidity and you will soon realize that Summer has arrived in Mississippi.

We are so happy to have our mission team back home safe and sound and look forward to

hearing from them Sunday Night. I know their hard work will impact future generations. And what

a way to cap off the week by leading a young lady to the Lord. Talk about divine timing and people

being willing to submit their personal lives to that of God’s doings. Praise God isn’t it exciting to be a

part of Griffith these days.

There have been a few changes with the year end musical for the children. After praying

about it and seeking the Lord’s will in this matter, we have decided that all of Kid’s Quest will end at

the same time. Since we will continue AWANA during the summer session, we will also continue

Children’s Choir as well. That will give us some much needed extra practice times. So the new date

for The Agape League Musical, Choir Awards, AWANA Awards, and AWANA store will be Sunday

night, August 24, 2014. Then we will resume with a new year of Kid’s Quest on Sunday, September

14, 2014.

Do not forget that we have two of our own participating in the 2014 Mississippi Baptist All

State Youth Choir and Orchestra in the next week. Ben and Abbi leave on the 8th and their final

concert will be a FBC Jackson on Monday the 16th of June. They will also be in concert here in

Byram on Friday, June 13, 2014 at Wynndale Baptist Church. This is such an awesome group so

please take time to come and support our young people and you will be blessed by the talent here in

out fair state.

As I draw this to a close, I want to remind everyone of the biblical importance of singing.

When we gather together for worship, we need to have our hearts and minds prepared to give God or

very best with loud shouts of praise.

THE IMPORTANCE OF SINGING IN THE BIBLE

The importance of music in the Bible is indicated by the fact that God’s creative and

redemptive activities are accompanied and celebrated by music. At creation we are told that "the

morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy" (Job 38:7). At the incarnation,

the heavenly choir sang: "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among men with whom he

is pleased!" (Luke 2:14). At the final consummation of redemption, the great multitude of the

redeemed will sing: "Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and exalt

and give him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready; it

was granted her to be clothed with the fine linen, bright and pure" (Rev 19:6-8).

A Message from Your Student Pastor

Well its finally here. SUMMER!!! Students, we can now say that

we leave for Gatlinburg THIS month! Saturday June 28 we will

leave from the church at 6:00am. Please be here by 5:45am. I know

it’s early but you’ll just sleep the whole way while Sean and I drive

so no complaining is allowed. Please get your final trip payments

turned in so we can take care of that before leaving. I will have a

list of items you need to bring in the next week.

Church, please be in prayer for our group as we travel to Tennessee at the end of June. We will go

hiking, tubing and do a lot more things as a group. However, the most important things we will do

will be spending some time ministering to the young residents of the Smoky Mountain Children’s

Home and diving into God’s Word each evening. Please pray for hearts to be opened, decisions to be

made and lives changed as a result of this trip.

In Him,

Andrew

DEACON MIISTRY

“The deacons voice their unanimous support for the “Reaching the Next

Generation” fund raising campaign voted on with approval at the specially

called business meeting held at the close of the morning worship service on Sunday, June 1, 2014.

Our pastor has a wonderful vision for our children and our church. With prayer and a positive

outlook we can raise the money needed to purchase state-of-the-art playground equipment without

impairing our giving through our regular tithes and offerings. Let us give, “not grudgingly, or of necessity;

for God loveth a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:7.

Your deacons encourage your support and participation. I know we can do this.

Billy Gore, Chairman”

WMU

During the month of June, we are collecting washing powder and

bath towels for Joyce’s Hope Home for Girls. This is in addition

to collecting items for Operation Christmas Child.

We invite every lady to be a part of WMU. Be with us as
