Greetings from Dubai American Academy Thank you for your interest in Dubai American Academy. Please find enclosed the required information to begin your application. Please understand that applying to Dubai American Academy does not guarantee placement for your child. The combination of the assessment results, confidential form and school reports will determine whether your child meets the admission requirements to enter DAA. Tours of our school are conducted every Sunday, Monday and Thursday mornings by appointment at 9:00 am for Primary and Elementary School and 10:00 am for Middle and High School, the duration of which is approximately one hour. We offer an enriched American school curriculum for students in Kg1 through Grade 12. In addition to our standard U.S. American High School Diploma, we offer the IB Diploma Program (for grades 11 and 12). More information regarding our school is available on our website, www.gemsaa-dubai.com including application forms and supporting information. DAA was fully accredited in May 2004 by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) and the Council of International Schools (CIS), and is a registered IB World Diploma School. Kindly note that the Admissions Committee only reviews completed application packages with the required support documentation in English, including the application fee of AED 500 and cannot be processed without the necessary documents. *The Transfer Certificate, residence visa and Emirates IDs do not have to accompany the application, but will be needed for final enrollment, following acceptance.




To activate your child’s application, kindly provide the mentioned required documentation and payment. Once we receive the required documentation and payment, we will invite your child to attend an assessment on the Dubai American Academy campus or you will have the option to take the abroad assessment. Kindly discuss this matter with the Registrar’s office. We conduct assessments on Sunday, Mondays and Wednesdays at 9 am for the duration of 3 hours. The assessment will consist of an English assessment along with a Mathematics assessment, both computer based testing as well as written. Required Documentation:

TRANSFER CERTIFICATE GUIDELINES

In order for us to comply with the UAE Educational Authorities regulations, and for us to register your child with the [Educational Authority], it is imperative that we receive a Transfer Certificate from your child’s previous school when joining our school. • Students joining FS1, FS2, Year 1, or KG1, KG2, Grade 1 at the start of the academic year, a

Transfer Certificate is not mandatory. • FS1 to Year 1 or KG1 to Grade 1 will require a Transfer Certificate if joining in second term. • Students joining Year 2 to Year 13 or Grade 2 to Grade 12, a Transfer Certificate is mandatory.

Instructions:

1. This Transfer Certificate must be on official school letterhead. 2. The form needs to be completed on pupil’s last day of attendance. 3. This form must be typed, signed by the Principal and show an official school stamp. 4. The original certificate must be presented on the first day of school.
