The 2019 Recycle Madness competition has officially come to an end. On April 12th, at the annual Recycle Madness championship ceremony, perennial contender Community and Economic Development & Film Office (20th floor) finally claimed their spot at the top of the podium. In 2017 the 20th floor made it into the final four, and in 2018 they fought their way into the top two. This year they broke through and claimed the 2019 Recycle Madness championship trophy. Congratulations to the 20th floor on a well-earned victory, and all other competitors who participated in this year’s competition! Will your team be the winner next year? SENIOR HUMAN RESOURCES CLERK - $15.11 - $22.28/hour: Fire Department.

Duties include processing confidential human

resources and payroll transactions, auditing

payroll and leave requests, high volume

computer data entry, answering questions from

employees and supervisors regarding human

resources/payroll/leave, explaining policies and

procedures utilizing policies, rules and

regulations.

Positions exercise initiative and judgment, and

maintain various human resources records

requiring multi-tasking, time management,

conducts research, and completes special

projects. Requires clerical experience and

working in a Human Resources Information

The COPERS Retirement Board is seeking nomina-

tions for an employee representative on the Disa-

bility Assessment Committee to serve a three-year

term.

The committee meets monthly during regular

business hours to evaluate disability applications.

To be considered eligible for nomination, candi-

dates are required to be COPERS members for at

least five years.

Nominations are due by 5 p.m. May 10.

New Light Rail Station Opens

at 50th Street and Washington

PHXTV reports on the opening of the new 50th Street light rail station, the newest addition to the current system. The station will provide access to the neighboring business community and Ability360, one of the state’s largest resource centers for people with disabilities. Have you ever wondered about the pods falling off of your mesquite tree? They do have a greater use! Kelly Athena will be at the city’s Green Gar-dening Group (G3) May event and she will share how to identify, harvest, dry and make flour from mesquite beans.
