‘…God is greater than our feelings, and he knows everything.’

1 John 3.20

Page 2: Greatness of God verses

‘What is the price of two sparrows—one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can

fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. And the very hairs on your

head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole

flock of sparrows.’

Mat 10:29-31

‘For I alone am God!I am God, and there is none like me.

Only I can tell you the futurebefore it even happens.

Everything I plan will come to pass, for I do whatever I wish.’

Isaiah 46:9-10

‘O LORD, you have examined my heartand know everything about me.

You know when I sit down or stand up.You know my thoughts even when I’m far

away. You see me when I traveland when I rest at home.

You know everything I do. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, LORD.

Psalm 139:1-4

‘Then they all prayed, “O Lord, you know every heart. Show us which of

these men you have chosen’

Acts 1:24

‘Jesus knew what they were thinking, so he asked them, “Why do you have such evil

thoughts in your hearts?’

‘Jesus knew their thoughts and replied, “Any kingdom divided by civil war

is doomed.’

Mat 12.25

“Go and get your husband,” Jesus told her.“I don’t have a husband,” the woman

replied.Jesus said, “You’re right! You don’t have a

husband— for you have had five husbands, and you aren’t even married to the man

you’re living with now. You certainly spoke the truth!”

John 4:16-18

‘Then he said, “Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but now I will go and wake him up.”

The disciples said, “Lord, if he is sleeping, he will soon get better!” They thought Jesus meant

Lazarus was simply sleeping, but Jesus meant Lazarus had died.

So he told them plainly, “Lazarus is dead. And for your sakes, I’m glad I wasn’t there, for now you will really believe. Come, let’s go see him.”

John 11:11-15

‘As they approached, Jesus said, “Now here is a genuine son of Israel—a man of

complete integrity.”“How do you know about me?” Nathanael

asked.Jesus replied, “I could see you under the fig

tree before Philip found you.”

John 1:47-48

‘If someone wanted to take God to court, would it be possible to answer him even

once in a thousand times? For God is so wise and so mighty.

Who has ever challenged him successfully?’

Job 9:3-4

“But true wisdom and power are found in God;

counsel and understanding are his.’

Job 12:13

Page 12: Greatness of God verses

’The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved

know it is the very power of God. As the Scriptures say,“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise

and discard the intelligence of the intelligent.”So where does this leave the philosophers, the

scholars, and the world’s brilliant debaters? God has made the wisdom of this world look foolish. Since God

in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never know him through human wisdom, he has used our

foolish preaching to save those who believe.

Page 13: Greatness of God verses

It is foolish to the Jews, who ask for signs from heaven. And it is foolish to the Greeks, who seek human

wisdom. So when we preach that Christ was crucified, the Jews are offended and the Gentiles say it’s all

nonsense. But to those called by God to salvation, both Jews and Gentiles, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. This foolish plan of God is wiser than the wisest of human plans, and God’s weakness is stronger than the

greatest of human strength.’

1 Cor 1:18-25

‘So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for

refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. This hope is a strong and

trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary. Jesus has

already gone in there for us. He has become our eternal High Priest’

Hebrews 6:18-20

I rest on His unchanging graceIn every high and stormy gale

My anchor holds within the veil’

for protection.’
