Carol Valentine Fleck B.Sc., P.Log, is a Supply Chain and Logistics professional with over twenty years of Canadian, US and international supply chain and operational experience. Carol has a high degree of operational competencies and expertise within all areas of manufacturing management, production, operations, quality, customer care, forward and reverse logistics, budgets, capital planning, financial reporting, inventory management and planning. This comprehensive experience allows Carol to bring practical experience of Supply Chain Management knowledge to the classroom. Program: Supply Chain Management

Krissy Doyle-Thomas, Ph.D. is a Professor at Mohawk College and a Medical Neuroscientist. Her research uses cutting-edge brain imaging and modulation technologies to explore innovative ways to treat children with neurodevelopmental and communication disorders. As part of an academic clinical team at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital, Krissy has applied her innovations within a clinical setting specifically to support treatment for children with autism spectrum disorders.Programs: Brain Disorders Management, Mental Health and Disability Management

Tim Tuck joined the Public Relations graduate certificate program as a faculty member in 2007, following a 22-year career in journalism and public relations. His public relations career has taken him through the worlds of entertainment, sports and municipal government. As a Senior Communications Officer with the City of Hamilton, Tim managed public relations campaigns. Tim has been accredited by the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) and has served on the board of local and regional chapters. Program: Public Relations

This program prepares you to become a skilled data professional and an essential contributor to business decision-making processes. Learn to analyze and interpret digital information and use business intelligence and data analytics software with a focus on data identification, consolidation, communication, reporting, manipulation and trending. Graduates may pursue obtaining the Certified Analytics Professional designation.

Graduates may work in positions such as data analyst, business analyst, data scientist and business intelligence analyst. Fields of employment include technology sector, marketing, finance, sports and entertainment, insurance and health care.

You will learn to apply evidence-based treatments to teach individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) as well as design, implement and evaluate treatment plans using behavioural strategies. Graduates will know how to train caregivers to implement techniques with their children and will have also gained an understanding of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) therapy, in the intensive behaviour intervention application with children with autism.

Graduates may work in positions such as instructor therapist, behaviour therapist or Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) therapist. Areas of employment include community / private treatment agencies, private family residences, hospital/clinical settings and school boards.

As the first program in Ontario to focus on brain disorders management, graduates will be well prepared to support clients or work behind the scenes in research or policy development. Through lectures, patient simulations, specialized training and guest speakers, this program engages a variety of learners. Fully online or in-class options are available for coursework, with a field placement (336 hours) occurring in the final semester.

Graduates work in rehabilitation clinics, athletic centres, hospitals, research institutions, schools and school boards, retirement homes and non-profit organizations.

Coursework includes enterprise analysis and planning, quality assurance methodologies, programming fundamentals, and database design and management. A field placement in the business analysis sector allows you to further enhance your educational experience by applying learning to real world problems.

Graduates may work as an analyst specializing in business, business process, program quality, data, operations, or business systems. Building on previous academic work, you will learn to assess, treat and work with individuals and families battling addiction and mental health issues who present complex diagnosis and treatment challenges. Coursework includes development of counselling skills, pharmacology for concurrent disorders, supporting families living with concurrent disorders, and relapse prevention and harm reduction. Additionally, you will attain job-ready skills by completing field placements in community organizations.

Graduates work in positions such as case manager, mental health worker, community worker and addiction worker in a variety of settings including community agencies, day programs, detoxification units, mental health/addiction services and shelters.

You will develop an understanding of cyber security concepts, industry best practices for securing information systems, sensitive data and applications to protect organizations against fraud, data breaches and other vulnerabilities. Learn how to defend against a cyber attack by participating in real world cyber attack simulations in our brand new, state of the art Cyber Lab. Graduates will be well prepared to develop, implement and evaluate cyber security strategies and solutions for various operating systems, networks, applications and databases.

Graduates work in areas such as cyber security operations, cyber security threat assessment and policy testing, identity and access management with personal privacy, and auditing and security review. Employment sectors include financial/banking, computing services, medical, education, government, airlines, research institutions, law enforcement and military.

This fast-track program has been designed for those who have already earned a related degree or diploma. Learn about the physical, cognitive, social and emotional needs of children. A Living Lab provides a realistic early years environment for hands-on learning. Field placements are built into the curriculum to provide you with the opportunity to integrate classroom learning into practice with groups of children in the community. Coursework includes child development, curriculum, inclusive classrooms, supervision and administration, and health policies and practices.

Graduates work in a variety of settings which include (but are not limited to) child care centres, family support/resource programs, before and after school programs, early intervention and support services, licensed home child care/agencies and kindergarten classrooms in the elementary school system.

Gain a critical understanding of the important elements of global business, a cultural orientation to Canada, and the language and communication requirements to be effective in a global business setting. Year one is designed to expose you to foundational international and Canadian business practices and help you to strengthen your English communication, math, and statistical skills. Advanced international business practices will be covered in your second year, including Supply Chain, Marketing, Sales and Negotiation, E-Commerce, Finance, Business Analytics and Project Management. All course work is linked through the completion of an international business capstone project.

An industry-based field placement in a public relations or communications setting is integrated into the program curriculum. Graduates are well prepared to formulate PR strategies for all types and sizes of organizations, use social and digital media in PR planning and execution and write professional-level PR materials.

This is the first graduate certificate in Ontario exclusively focused on Extended Reality (XR) (virtual/augmented/mixed reality and storytelling). Through a concentrated curriculum—taught by leading XR industry experts and delivered in state-of-the-art lab facilities—you will learn to develop and apply state-of-the-art immersive technology skills in accordance with legal, ethical, social and environmental regulations. The Lanuguage & Culture Centre (LCC) is Mohawk's year-round destination for events, conversation, a quiet space (sometimes!), student success workshops and cultural celebrations. A great place to meet a friend or to make one. Drop in to socialize, meet with staff, sign up to volunteer, meet a Peer Mentor, inquire about EAP programs and more. Everyone is welcome at the LCC – and that means you!

Our Language & Culture Centre hosts academic and social activities and celebrates diversity through cultural festivals on all campuses and in Hamilton’s community. Mohawk welcomes students from more than 90 countries. The International Square service hub at Fennell Campus helps international students make a successful transition to Mohawk, as well as make friends and gain leadership skills.

Land Acknowledgment Mohawk College derives its name from the Mohawk Nation, one of the Six Nations of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy. The Confederacy marks a union of peace and friendship, and Mohawk College honours that union by recognizing the Six Nations of the Grand River and the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation.
