Dear Graduate,
On behalf of Waterford Chamber Skillnet I want to welcome you to your Graduate Accelerator Program. This program has been designed with Employers in the region to compliment your graduate placement and assist with your personal and professional growth during this time.
Waterford Chamber Skillnet is a leading training and development network, funded by your employer, the National Training Fund and the Department of Education and Skills.
Our core mission is to support employers in the region to grow and develop their staff to become strong professional, technical and subject matter experts in their chosen fields. We also support the growth and development of staff over a working life-time, from graduate internships to senior management. This involves assisting in the development of core skills to unlock, harness, develop and maximise the full potential of individuals by identifying and working with businesses to grow peoples strengths to increase performance, productivity and profitability.
It is our aim to support you and your employer throughout this time and we welcome all feedback to assist us in creating a better program in future.

Graduate AcceleratorProgramme Aim
The aim of the Graduate Accelerator
programme is to offer practical training in
order to ease candidates into the world of
work and give them the skills necessary to
become part of the larger team.
This Graduate Accelerator Programme is the
perfect way to develop a workforce of home
grown talent that is fully able to understand
the core values of a company.
Who should attend this programme?
This programme has been specifically
designed for recent graduates starting their
careers.
Cost
This programme is 100% under the Waterford
Chamber Skillnet Employment Activation
Fund.

Emotional Intelligence, also known as EQ,
affects how we manage behaviour, navigate
social complexities, and make personal
decisions that achieve positive results.
Motivate
The aim of the session is to provide
participants with a quantum leap in emotional
intelligence to communicate, motivate and
inspire team members and achieve increased
performance, productivity and profitability.

Project Management Essentials The aim of this 1 day programme is to
introduce participants to the fundamental
management techniques and skills for
organising and managing projects of all sizes.
The day will start by answering some of the
key questions that anyone new to project
management might have, such as:
• What is a project and how do projects
differ from ordinary and ongoing work
activities?
• What are the skills required of a project
manager?
• What are the project success / failure
measures?

Introduction to LEAN The aim of this 1 day programme will help
learners to understand how to optimise
processes, reduce costs, and improve quality in
their current workplace.
This programme will introduce learners to
Lean principles and the practical application of
Lean tools and techniques, as well as how they
can actively direct, manage and participate in
lean programmes. This training programme
will show where waste can be eliminated and
encourages innovation.

Waterford Chamber Skillnet is co-funded by Skillnet Ireland and member companies. Skillnet Ireland is funded from the National Training Fund through the Department of Education and Skills.
Each of the modules on this programme are
optional based on the requirement of each
graduate as identified by their supervisor.
However, it is recommended that graduates
attend all modules to benefit from the content,
as well as the networking & development
opportunities.
Applicants must be recent graduates seeking
employment or have recently been recruited on
a graduate programme with a local company.
There are no costs to company or graduate for
the Graduate Accelerator Programme as this is
fully funded by the Waterford Chamber Skillnet
“Employment Activation Programme” fund.
