The 1st semester of the school year is about to end, as such, all the students gathered in celebration of a job well done. The Holiday Concert 2012 is a showcase of talents—displaying their musical and dance skills—the grade 6 Wishnu students readily took part in the festivities. The entire grade 6 class serenaded the audience with their own angklung performance of “Silent Night”, after which selected female students did a dance number. Man and his environment was the hot topic during Science discussions. The students were made aware of all the wonders of nature, as well as all forces and circumstances that affect the stability of the world. They likewise learned how to better

What the students learned in... Upcoming Lessons in: English—Number the Stars, Writing activities, Speaking activities, and Prepositional Phrases Mathematics—Pie Charts and volume Science—Force and simple machines Geo-history-Indonesia: World War II

In their Geo-history class, the students learned all about the Age of Exploration. They ventured out just as the Europeans did during the 15th-17th century—in search of knowledge and a new beginning. The grade 6 Wishnu brainstormed other reasons that gave birth to the Age of Exploration, such as the need for trade of spices, silk and gold; the spread of religion; the expansion of territory and power; and, the yearning for learning. They ended their lesson with projects related to the Age—creating artifacts, maps, stories, and so much more. Next off, they are to experience the hardships and troubles brought about by the Second World War. They will travel back in time and walk through the history before the war, during the war, and after the war.

E v e n t u a l l y , the students will find Pie charts and solving for the volume of given objects as part and parcel of their learning in the vast world of n u m b e r s . Their classes will prepare them in better understanding Mathematics through more computations and problem
