This week we have covered Chapter 2 , Bud not Buddy with a class discussion and a worksheet that was as-
signed for homework. I have posted a power point with the materials covered during our discussion for fur-
ther review.
We have also covered Lesson 1 A Package from Mrs. Jewels with a deep discussion and comprehension ques-
tions to help get a further look into understanding the genre of the story.

This week students practiced Common and Proper Nouns using various activities and the practice book. In spelling, they studied words with long “i” and long “o” sounds.

Dear parents and students,
This week we started our lesson on Earth Landforms. The students were intro-duced to the vocabulary words, and recognized how several landforms are created. We also identified how weathering affects and shapes the Earth’s surface.
Next week, we will conclude the lesson by analyzing how people change the land. Students will be introduced to the vocabulary words for the next lesson: Earth’s Bodies of Water. Students will take the second quiz of the term.

During the computer classes students will start their MAP test exams. 1. Q: What is MAP? A: The Measures of Academic Progress are electronically administered and scored achievement tests designed to measure growth in student learning for individual students, classrooms, schools, and districts. The tests provide ac-curate and immediate scores to help teachers plan instructional programs, place new students in the appropriate courses, and screen students for special programs. 2. Q: How do the tests work? A: MAP is a computerized adaptive testing system that tailors tests to a student’s achievement level. Each student takes a test that is dynamically developed for him or her as the test is being administered. The program instantly an-alyzes the student’s response to each test question and, based on how well the student has answered all previous questions, selects a question of appropriate difficulty to display next. 3. Q: What subjects are included in the standard MAP package? A: The standard package includes tests for reading, language usage, mathematics& Science.

The Art and Music department is organizing the EAIS annual Talent show
competition. Students are asked to choose an Art form or painting to represent
their own Art skills.
Our talent show this year is scheduled for Thursday, November 17th,2016 where
the winners’ painting will be used for the stage background decoration.
Deadline for receiving the Art work: 3/11/2016.
