RESEARCH ASSOCIATE

School of Social and Policy Studies, Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences, Flinders University, SA September 2012 – May 2013 Worked with researchers on an ARC Linkage Grant, ‘Are the Kids Alright? This project seeks to assess the wellbeing of children in the middle years (aged 8-14) from their perspective. The project focuses on children from 6 disadvantaged groups in comparison to mainstream children. In the first phase of the research children’s perspectives about their wellbeing will be gained from interactive activities using iPads and from interviews. Following this a large national study involving over 300 schools is planned for 2014-15.

RESEARCH ASSISTANT Division of Education, Arts and Social Sciences, University of South Australia March 2012 – August 2012 Worked with a team to develop a 4-year longitudinal cohort study of adolescents aged 12-17. This project is a cybersafety research study which is part of the Young and Well CRC (YAWCRC) Research Program: Online Social Marketing for Safety and Wellbeing. This research will investigate the capacity of online strategies to influence the beliefs and attitudes of young people in positive ways.
