Nowadays, weather monitoring station is becoming popular for commercial PV power plant, which can be outstandingly helpful in monitoring the performance of the solar power plant. Normally, a weather monitoring station includes different sensors, monitoring the weather parameters at site such as solar radiation, wind velocity, wind direction, humidity, module temperature etc. With the weather data collected, we could use the data not only to analyze whether the PV system is generating electricity as expected, but also arrange the maintenance schedule if there is an obvious difference between the real-time performance and the estimated generation based on the weather data. Aiming at providing the best monitoring solution for PV system, GoodWe Ezlogger Pro is integrated with RS485 port along with standard MODBUS-RTU protocol, compatible with most of the WMS on the markets. Nowadays, weather monitoring station is becoming popular for commercial PV power plant, which can be outstandingly helpful in monitoring the performance of the solar power plant.Normally, a weather monitoring station includes different sensors, monitoring the weather parameters at site such as solar radiation, wind velocity, wind direction, humidity, module temperature etc. With the weather data collected, we could use the data not only to analyze whether the PV system is generating electricity as expected, but also arrange the maintenance schedule if there is an obvious difference between the real-time performance and the estimated generation based on the weather data.

Aiming at providing the best monitoring solution for PV system, GoodWe Ezlogger Pro is integrated with RS485 port along with standard MODBUS-RTU protocol, compatible with most of the WMS on the markets.

After connecting the weather monitoring station to the local Ezlogger Pro with RS485 cable, we could use GoodWe’s ProMate to set the RTU addresses of both the weather monitoring station and its sensors in the sector “Parameter Set” and then check whether Ezlogger Pro has successfully collected the weather data through the sector “Real Time Data”.

After uploading the weather data to GoodWe cloud server, users could easily view the real-time data on GoodWe SEMS monitoring platform, including:

What’s more, GoodWe SEMS Portal also provide two features:

1.PR Value

Normally, the metric PR will be used to use the conversion efficiency of DC to AC to intuitively learn about the performance of the solar power plant. For example, low efficiency of solar modules may be caused by high ambient temperature and relative humidity; frequent heavy rainfall can explain low energy yields at high solar radiation etc.

2. Diagnosis with IV Scan

IV diagnosis is a common to conclude the status through the weather data. If there is an obvious difference between the real-time I/V and the estimated generation based on the weather data, the maintenance team could carry out necessary activities at proper time.
