LALIZAS HISTORYBeginningIt all started in the spring of 1982, when the young Na-

tional Sailing Champion in Greece, Mr. Stavros Lalizas no-ticed, that the lifejacket he was wearing during his training and races, was inadequate to achieve optimum performance. Therefore, he decided to make certain changes in the origi-nal design, which would meet the necessary preresiquites and reach the desired performance standards.

This endeavor was carried out with the contribution of his mother, who was a seamstress and helped him fabricate the very first custom made lifejacket, which received all the approvals since it complied with all the regulations. During the next days all of his co-athletes were impressed and expressed their desire to make the same lifejacket for them and that was just the start of the 30 successful years that were to follow.

At a very short period of time, Mr. Stavros Lalizas had an unexpect-ed demand for his lifejacket, from other sailing teams. This very demand prompted him to initiate a small home business, whose reputation reached the entire region of Greece.

LALIZAS’ “journey”, since 1982 until nowadays, has been full of challenges, milestones and successes that made the company become one of the leading firms in the global marine market. In the beginning, the com-pany was able to produce just a single racing lifejacket, then moved on to windsurfing and boat accessories and nowadays has a product range of over 10.000 high quality marine products.
