Guest Lecture- Mr.ChippyGangjee 2/2/ 2013

Effective Communication

Sometimes people want to move forward in their life, but they don’t know how. You may know something that they don’t. And who knows your idea may change somebody’s life. So go ahead, don’t be afraid to share what you know. This was the message of Mr. ChippiGangjee, renowned Theatre person, Actor and Food Criticwho gave the students of XB and XD a one hour enlightening session on Communication.

Communication is the meaningful exchange between two or more persons. It can be anything- a talk, a cry, a moan, a gesture, one’s body language or expression.

But why do we need to communicate? It is to voice our opinion, feelings, ideas and thoughts. In other words, communication adds wings to one’s perspective.

The first and most important step toward success is the feeling that we can succeed. A positive attitude is necessary in life. Mr.Gangiee encouraged all to think with a positive note. He emphasised the need of the phrase ‘I can, I will’ in one’s life to succeed. The session was informative on how to engage the audience. First and foremost we should be fearless and firm in making our point To make it more coherent, we can use gestures and facial expressions. But the most important rule is animating your conversation. Animation is adding wings to imagination and doing it while communicating makes us even more confident in making our point.

At the end of the day, Mr. Gangjee encouraged all to speak their minds out. It was an opportunity for all to learn more about the art of Effective Communication.

Tree plantation and Landscaping of Garden: To grow up in harmony with nature is what we Indians have always believed in; after all, the ancient Gurukuls functioned under the banyan tree. A beautiful garden can definitely be thought of as a wonderful feature, soothing for the eyes and mind. As we get busy with the daily academic pressures in the institution, we seldom stop by and appreciate the beauty of the 32 acres of verdant greenery of the campus. On the occasion of the Golden jubilee, the beautiful garden was sought to be decorated in its entire splendor. In order to reflect the eco friendly ambient learning atmosphere, this task was taken up with much enthusiasm by the Scouts and Guides movement of the school under the leadership of Scout Master Shri G. M. Chavan. Thinking Day was celebrated in a unique way by the Scouts and Guides who contributed generously with Saplings and planted them at chosen spots all over the school campus.

He explained every detail, and how he prepared the colours, painting tray, excel etc .every single thing he printed on cloth was marvellous. He printed an exceptional design for a handkerchief & it didn’t take more than 5 minutes to dry. He told that he took only 1 month to learn the art. G.R. Mishra, the pottery expert showed how we make a pot & other crafts, both technically & visually. In fact he interacted with the students &showed how to make a pot. He gave details about terracotta, its uses, and its efficiency. He demonstrated how to turn, fold and squeeze bamboo. Students imbibed some innovative ideas on designing. He repeatedly stressed that devotion to work is the mantra for creating any piece of Art. We must link our work to the society and see the positive part of everything since the same dangerous & sharp fibre was used to create beautiful objects. The students felt that it was a great opportunity to learn the different uses of bamboo. Sri Timmaraju (lacquerwave expert) explained how the machine worked. He showed toys and other samples made by him on his machine. He interacted with students and displayed skill and dexterity in creating exquisite wooden dolls and playthings.
