OUR STEM SCIENCE LABORATORIES ARE NOW OPENAfter 9 months of building I am pleased to report that our eagerly awaited STEM Science laboratories are now officially open to all Year 8-10 classes. The spaces are fantastic and were certainly worth waiting for. They are clean, brightly coloured, full of brand new furniture and packed with the latest in ICT teaching devices. Along with the 5 laboratories we also have a huge under-cover outdoor learning space and a flexible collaboration space where students can work independently or in small groups. Science staff have been involved in learning how to operate the technology in the new spaces and are very excited to finally have an office space where they are all co-located and able to support each other.We are very thankful to the Department for Education for providing the funding for the project, to our architects Michael and Jamie from Brown Falconer, our building partners from Shape and Sue Ruciack (GGHS Business Manager) who oversaw the project on behalf of the school.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL YEAR 12 STUDENTSThis week our Year 12 students attended their final lessons for each of their subjects, before turning their attention to completing their last assignments, putting the finishing touches on their major pieces of work and revising for the upcoming exams. On Friday 26 October, Year 12 teachers and leaders celebrated the times we have shared together at the Year 12 Breakfast held in I Block and the new outdoor Science learning area. It was a time to laugh, swap stories and sign school uniforms. On behalf of the entire school community we wish the Year 12 students the very best for their exams. We are looking forward to the Year 12 Graduation Ceremony to be held in the DRMC on Wednesday 21 November and the release of the SACE results on Tuesday 18 December where we will celebrate the culmination of this cohort’s achievements over their five years at Golden Grove High School.Peter KussPrincipal
