4theVoicless Ministry4theVoiceless is an expression of the vision of Colonial Hills Church in DeSoto County Mississippi. The needs of over 140 million orphans throughout the world is overwhelming, but we serve an overwhelmingly able God, so we believe that we can make a difference for some of the world's orphans. God is clear in His Word that He wants His people to care for orphans. Therefore, we care for orphans and leave it to Him what that looks like. 4theVoiceless seeks involvement in the following areas of orphan ministry: international & domestic adoption, foster care, orphan homes, transitional assistance, and orphan hosting.

4theVoicless Overview: Learn what the 4theVoiceless ministry is and what we are doing to fulfill God’s clear commands to care for orphans. Discover how CHC is involved in caring for orphans locally and internationally. This session is open to anyone and is offered during the first and third training sessions.

Adoption Q&A: Learn what the adoption process looks like from a family that has gone through the adoption process. This session is open to anyone and is offered during the second training session.

Children’s MinistryChildren’s Ministry begins at 1st grade and goes through 6th grade. We love our kids and love to watch them grow spiritually as well as physically. Our children’s ministry is called CHCKids - that is who we are and what we do. We will cover curriculum, teaching, class prep & check in procedures.

Elevate: 1st-3rd gradersCafé: 4th-6th graders

Who doesn't like a party? The Baptism ministry is all about celebrating what God has done in the lives of the candidates. Here's your chance to encourage, sooth nervousness, and help celebrating families give glory to God.

Celebrate RecoveryThis group meets every week on Friday nights. It serves as an accountability group for those who are seeking help from their addictions. If you would be interested in helping to lead or get involved, join us!

The CHC Connections Library on the Southaven campus has hundreds of books and DVDs to both educate and entertain. The library is open before and after services on Sundays and Wednesdays. If you are interested in receiving training in order to volunteer in the library, this session is for you. We are currently in need of several additional volunteers. This session takes place in the library during the first training session.

First Impressions Inside GreetersEver visited a church and no one spoke to you? Didn't go back did you? Attend this training class to see how we attempt to make this an impossibility at CHC.

First Impressions Greeting Team for Hernando CHC Parking Lot This team will assist and greet people as they park their cars and enter the building.

Front Door Membership Class Hospitality TeamThis team serves those who are completing CHC’s membership class and those who are coming to find out more about the membership class. Areas of service include check-in, table preparation, meal preparation and clean up. You would serve approximately every 7th week.

Connections Library

Home Teams MinistryThis is the ministry that Pastor Rick has been unveiling over the past few weeks to address the needs of our community and to engage them in gospel conversations. Home teams will partner with the food pantry ministry to deliver food to families in need, to gauge their interest in hosting a Bible study in their homes, and to conduct 4-week Bible studies in order to share the gospel. You will be introduced to the goals of the ministry, the materials that we will use, and other practical aspects.

HOPE Prayer LineIf a tragedy stuck your family this moment, could you think of someone you would want praying for you? In HOPE Prayer Ministry & SHE Prays you can find out how to become one of those people who is called on in a time of crisis. Attend this training class to find out more.

Next Step Counseling

Preschool MinistryIt is not just baby-sitting! There is so much more to this ministry. We begin nurturing the children in our care with Bible lessons, music and activities that are age appropriate.

Birth-3 years old: Learn the schedules, curriculum & procedures in each age group.

4 & 5 Year Olds - Explorers: You will learn the aspects of how these classrooms function on any given Sunday & Wednesday.

Bible Heroes K6: This new ministry for K6 focuses on teaching the children about heroes of the Bible on Sunday mornings. You will learn classroom set up and functions during lesson times.

Special Needs Ministry: If you are willing to work with special needs children during our services on Sunday, we need you!

Small Groups

The CHC STAT Team was developed to assist victims and communities during a time of crisis or disaster. In addition to providing an overview of CHC's role in disaster relief, this Orientation Course will discuss how you can become involved, different areas of ministry within the team, and how to share the love of Christ in a time of crisis. Note: This course is required for all STAT Team members.

StudentsOur Student Ministry encompasses 7th - 12th grade kids. Needless to say, this is one of the larger ministries at CHC and it is growing every week. Training for this ministry will be broken up into Jr. High and Sr. High groups and teach the basics of large groups & small groups, service events, and outreach.

Small groups are a vital part of engaging in the church family of CHC. Small groups are a picture of the early church that met together in large groups for worship and in small groups to practically live out the gospel with other believers. As we at CHC become a multi-site campus next month, small groups will be an even more vital part of being part of the body of Christ at CHC.

New Leader Orientation: Ever thought about leading a small group? New leader orientation will answer many of the questions you may have about leading a group at CHC. Attending this training does not require a commitment to lead a group at this time, but NLO is required before leading a small group at CHC. If you will be leading a group at any point this year, please also plan to attend the “Engage Curriculum for Small Group Leaders” during the second training session (same room as NLO). We need new leaders for both campuses, so please come check out small group new leader orientation.

Creating A Welcoming Environment in Small Groups: The new environments created by our two new campuses (Hernando and Southaven) next month mean many more opportunities to welcome new people into our small groups. This training session will unveil some of the strategies that we will employ at each campus to invite people to our groups and make them feel welcome when they get there. Sessions will be specific to the Southaven campus (first session) and the Hernando campus (second sessions). The third session will be for either campus. This training session is recommended for GROUP LEADERS and GROUP MEMBERS.

Engage Curriculum for Small Group Leaders: Are you starting a new group this fall, multiplying from an existing group, or coming back from a summer hiatus in your group? This session will help you integrate the Engage materials into your group so that you can seamlessly join other groups who have been studying the materials all year. This training is offered during the second training session.

Women’s MinistryHave you been looking for a place to serve or are you serving but want to know more about the Women's Ministry? Join us for an informational and training meeting for the She ministry. There will be opportunities to learn more about the many ministries we have to offer. Ministries include: She Serves, She Disciples, She Prays, She Grows, She Grows-Day/Night, She Celebrates, She Encourages.

Worship MinistryThis year, iServe for the Worship Ministry will revolve entirely around gathering volunteers to support the ministry at our Hernando Multi-Site location, which begins September 23rd. We will need 4 teams of 10 people each week to setup, tear down, and store all of the audio/video/lighting equipment at the Hernando Middle School. During this time we will explore each area of service and acquaint you with the systems to be used. PRIOR EXPERIENCE WITH THIS EQUIPMENT IS NOT REQUIRED.

Lighting/Video: Light Console, Graphics Computer, projectors, screens.
