role to play in the Society. Reading habits have been reducing in the people and it’s up to the
librarian to bring back this habit. He explained in detail the new innovations taking place in
his library like the Bookfinder4u, Daily News, I just read this book, Communication Panel –
not happy with this service; document not found on the shelf; Database not accessible or Book
Recommendation and Monthly Info Bulletin.
One has to catchup with the technology, change our mindset and connect with the end-users.

Dr. Sandeep Bhavsar, Librarian, Learning Resource Centre, Prin. L. N. Welingkar Institute of
Management Development and Research, Mumbai gave an overall view of the changes
happening in the library profession.
Quality Collection Development should be the main focus of the modern librarian. New
developments like the Instant chat on WebOpac; thought Leadership Services; Knowledge
Hub for all the news, Fedgate – A Single point search for all the resources; Infocapsule – This
covers the new arrivals of books, abstracts of latest articles, news and developments with links
to full texts are some of the technological advancement installed in his library.
He also pointed out that we should update ourselves with the current happenings in our
profession. Some of the websites we should go through are CII; FICCI; ASSOCHAM; US-India
Business Council; UK – India Business Council, Nashik Manufacturing Association, Thane, Navi
Mumbai, Panvel Associations. Be aware of the current trends in Management Educations,
New Publications, Seminars/Talks and Workshops being conducted, etc.

because of his attitude and 15 % of the time because due to his intelligence, Knowledge or a
degree.
