Indians are very intellectuals that the world is witnessing day by day. In every corner of the world, there are Indians who are leading and showing the paths to the
followers. I expressed my interest and curiosity to prepare this presentation slide when I
got to know that there is another Obama (Asian Obama) in America, that he is going to lead the world is an Indian. I am really very very proud of being an Indian and I am sure
this little efforts will bring lots of inspirations, encouragements, hopes and big dreams to all Indians to be a leader and to create history both in India and the World. A recent study
found that Indians are the most successful in almost all fields(IT, Science, Politics,
Leadership, Business, Innovation etc.) in the world.

36% of NASA scientists, 34% of Microsoft employees,
28% of IBM employees, 17% of INTEL scientists,
13% of XEROX employees.
There is two important abbreviation, i.e., NRIs means Non-Resident Indians, better you
can read it «Non-Returning Indians» and another term PIOs means Person of Indian
Origins. Finally, I can say “Dream big to get big result”.

Piyush "Bobby" Jindal is the Governor of the U.S. state of Louisiana. A Republican, before his election as governor,
he was member of the United States House of Representatives from Louisiana's 1st congressional district, to which he
was elected in 2004 to succeed now U.S. Senator David Vitter. Jindal was re-elected to the House in the 2006 election
with 88 percent of the vote.
He was the second ever Indian American elected to Congress. On October 20, 2007, Jindal was elected governor of
Louisiana, winning a four-way race with 54.2% of the vote. At age 36, Jindal became the youngest current governor in
the United States. He also became the first non-white to serve as governor of Louisiana since P. B. S. Pinch back during
Reconstruction; one of fewer than ten people not of mainly European ancestry elected governor of a state after
Reconstruction; and the first United States governor of Indian descent.
Jindal has been mentioned as a potential candidate in the 2012 and 2016 United States presidential elections, and is
considered by many to be one of the frontrunners for the Republican nomination. On February 8, 2008, conservative
radio host Rush Limbaugh mentioned on his syndicated show that Jindal could be a possible choice for the Republican
vice presidential nomination in 2008.

In 2000, Mr. Satveer Chaudhary became the first Asian-Indian senator in
American history. In 1996,when he was elected State Representative,
Chaudhary became the first Asian-American member of the Minnesota
Legislature, and only the fourth Asian-Indian elected to a state legislature in
the United States.
Senator Chaudhary holds many top rank positions. He
was the CEO of The American Commerce Group. He is

Satyanand was born and raised in Auckland to an Indo-Fijian and Anglo-Indian family. His
grandparents arrived in Fiji from India in 1911, and were married on Nukulau Island. His
father, Mutyala Satyanand, a medical doctor, was born in Sigatoka in 1913 and arrived in
New Zealand in 1927 to attend high school.[3] His mother Tara Tillak was a nurse
fromSuva. She married his father after moving to New Zealand.
Satyanand is the first Governor-General not to hold a knighthood before entering office
(Colonel Thomas Gore Browne, Governor of New Zealand 1855-1861, was knighted in
office). He was knighted two years later, in 2009. On assuming the role of Governor-
General he received the style The Honourable for life. Starting on New Year's Day 2009,
Satyanand issued a "New Year's Message" intended to "to bring to attention a number of
issues New Zealanders might consider as they looked to the future".
THE PRESIDENT OF REPUBLIC OF SINGAPORE
Mr. S R NATHAN
Mr Nathan began his career in the Singapore Civil Service as a medical social worker in
1955. He was appointed Seamen’s Welfare Officer the following year. In 1962, he was
seconded to the Labour Research Unit of the Labour Movement, first as Assistant Director
and later Director of the Labour Research Unit until January 1966. He continued as a
Member of its Board of Trustees until April 1988.In February 1966, he was transferred to
the Foreign Ministry. He served as Assistant Secretary and rose to beDeputy Secretary
before being appointed Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs in
January 1971. In August of the same year, Mr Nathan moved to the Ministry of Defence
where he was a Director with the rank of Permanent Secretary.
August 1999 and was elected President of the Republic of Singapore on 18 August 1999.
He began his 6-yearterm from 1 September 1999. On 17 August 2005, Mr Nathan was re-
elected and he was sworn-in for his second term of office on 1 September 2005.
THE PRESIDENT OF GUIANA
Mr. Bharrat Jagdeo
Bharrat Jagdeo has been the President of Guyana since 11 August 1999. Prior to his
presidency he was Minister of Finance[1] and became resident after Janet Jagan
resigned for health reasons; he has since won two elections, in 2001 and 2006. He is the
youngest head of state of the Caricom countries. He is of Indo- Guyanese descent.
Jagdeo was born in Unity Village on the East Coast of Demerara. He joined the youth
wing of the People's Progressive Party (PPP), the Progressive Youth Organisation, when
he was 13, and became a member of the PPP itself at age 16. He subsequently rose to
local leadership positions in the party.After obtaining a Master's in Economics from
Patrice Lumumba Peoples' Friendship University in Moscow in 1990, Jagdeo returned to
Guyana and worked as an economist in the State Planning Secretariat until the PPP/Civic
election victory in the October 1992 election. After this he became Special Advisor to
the Minister of Finance.

Sir Anerood Jugnauth
He founded the Militant Socialist Movement(MSM) party in 1983. He was elected as
prime minister in 1982 for the first time, again in 1983, and for the third time from
1991 to 1995. His years as prime minister were marked with social tension, due to
continuous hostility of the then-government towards the Muslim community. He was
promoted to the rank of Knight by Elizabeth II in 1980. He is also honoured with
Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awards by Government of India for his continued support
for India’s causes and concerns, and for strengthening India’s relationship with
Mauritius.

Mr. T. Ananda Krishnan
He is a Malaysian businessman and philanthropist of Sri Lankan Tamil origin. Nicknamed
TAK, he is currently estimated to have a net worth of US$7.4 billion according to Forbes'
latest annual list of billionaires, making him the third wealthiest man in Southeast Asia
behind Robert Kuok and Ng Teng Fong and number 119 in the world. Ananda Krishnan is
also the wealthiest Tamil in the world, ahead of Shiv Nadar, who is the 10th richest man in
India.
Ananda Krishnan studied at Vivekananda Tamil School in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur and
furthered his studies at Victoria Institution, Kuala Lumpur. Later, as a Colombo Plan scholar,
he attended University of Melbourne, Australia for his B.A. (Honours) degree majoring in
political science. During that time he boarded in the Melbourne suburb of Hawthorn.
Following that, Krishnan obtained a Masters in Business Administration at Harvard
University, graduating in 1964.

Mr. Kal Penn
Kalpen Suresh Modi (born April 23, 1977), best-known by his professional name Kal Penn,
is an American film and television actor who is currently serving as the Associate Director
of the White House Office of Public Liaison in the Barack Obama administration. On April 8,
2009, Penn announced that he would join the Obama White House as Associate Director
of the White House Office of Public Liaison. This necessitated that his character Lawrence
Kutner be written out of the TV series House.
Penn's feature film debut came in 1998 in Express: Aisle to Glory. He has since appeared in

Ms. Noureen DeWulf
DeWulf, an Indian American, was born in New York City, New York, and was raised in
Georgia. Her parents are from Pune, Maharashtra, India. DeWulf first came into the public
spotlight as the star of the 2007 Academy Award winning short film West Bank Story in
which she played Fatima, a Palestinian fast food cashier who falls in love with an Israeli
soldier. In May 2009, DeWulf starred opposite Matthew McConaughey in the New Line
Release Ghosts of Girlfriends Past where she played Melanie, the Ghost of Girlfriends
Present. Her comedic performance received very positive reviews. DeWulf can next be
seen in August 2009, where she plays opposite Ving Rhames in The Goods: Live Hard,
Sell Hard. The film also stars Jeremy Piven and Will Ferrell. DeWulf is currently shooting The
Back Up Plan with Jennifer Lopez, slated for a January 2010release.

Sir Ben KingsleyWinner of Oscar, BAFTA, Gloden Globe & Screen Actors Guild
Kingsley's first film role was a supporting turn in Fear Is the Key, released in 1972. Kingsley
continued starring in bit roles in both film and television, including a role as Ron Jenkins on the
soap opera Coronation Street from 1966 to 1967 and regular appearances as a defence counsel in
the long-running British legal programme Crown Court. He found fame only years later, starring as
Mohandas Gandhi in the Academy Award-winning film Gandhi in 1982, his best-known role to
date. The audience also agreed with the critics, and Gandhi was a box-office success. Kingsley won

On his return to India from MIT, Paul joined the Apeejay Group, which his father had founded. He took over
theoperations of Apeejay Overseas and relocated permanently to London in 1966. After the Apeejay family
partition, he renamed the company Caparo. From acquiring one steel unit, he went on to acquire more and
founded the Caparo Group in 1978, which developed into one of the leading producers of welded steel tube
and spiral welded pipe in the United Kingdom. He stepped down from the management of the aparo group
in 1996, handing over to his three sons.
Lord Paul has received various awards and honours. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan by Indira Gandhi in
1983 and the Bharat Gaurav award by the Indian Merchant's Chamber. He holds the pro-chancellorship of

Sir Ahmed Salman Rushdie
Sir Ahmed Salman Rushdie is a British Indian novelist and essayist. He first achieved fame
with his second novel, Midnight's Children (1981),which won the Booker Prize in 1981.
Much of his early fiction is set on the Indian subcontinent. His style is often classified as
magical realism mixed with historical fiction, and a dominant theme of his work is the story
of the many connections, disruptions and migrations between the Eastern and Western
world.
In 2006, Rushdie joined the Emory University faculty as Distinguished Writer in Residence
for one month a year for the next five years. Rushdie was awarded a knighthood for
services to literature in the Queen's Birthday Honours on 16 June 2007.
He has received many plaudits for his writings, including the European Union's Aristeion
Prize for Literature, the Premio Grinzane Cavour (Italy), and the Writer of the Year Award in
Germany and many of literature's highest honors. He is also a fellow of the Royal Society of
Literature and Commandeur des Arts et des Lettres. Rushdie was the President of PEN

Ms. Deepa MehtaGenie Award Winner
Mehta embarked on her film career as a screenwriter for children's films. In 1991 she
made her feature-film directorial debut with Sam & Me (starring Om Puri), a story of the
relationship between a young Indian boy and an elderly Jewish gentleman in the Toronto
neighbourhood of Parkdale. It won First Honorable Mention in the Camera d'Or category of
the 1991 Cannes Film Festival. Mehta followed up with Camilla starring Bridget Fonda and
Jessica Tandy in 1994. In 2002, she directed Bollywood/Hollywood, for which she won the
Genie Award for Best Original Screenplay. Mehta is currently preparing a film entitled
Exclusion, which stars Akshay Kumar and John Abraham. The plot is based on the Komagata
Maru incident that occurred in Canada. Mehta directed two episodes of George Lucas'
television series The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. The first episode, "Benares, January
1910", aired in 1993. The second episode was aired in 1996 as part of a TV movie titled

His father,Roger, was born in Calcutta to an Indian mother and played for East Fremantle
in the WAFL. He formerly dated Melanie Cousins, the sister of former teammate Ben
Cousins. Kerr is a first cousin of Fremantle player Shaun McManus. Like fellow West Coast
Eagles teammate Quinten Lynch, Daniel Kerr also attended Aquinas College, Perth.[4] Kerr
is also part of the Stand Up Speak Up campaign. Recently Daniel has become engaged to
his girlfriend of 2 years Natasha Pozo.
Kerr was selected with the number 18 pick in the 2000 AFL Draft. Kerr is widely known as
one of the toughest players in the AFL. In August 2006, the much bigger Fraser Gehrig
considered one of the strongest players in the AFL. In 2007, Kerr had another great year
with the eagles. He came runner up in the Brownlow Medal for a second time in his
career, Jimmy Bartel was the winner. Daniel Kerr recently re-signed with the Eagles after

After graduating from Stanford University in 1980, Khosla along with his Stanford fellows
Scott McNealy, Andy Bechtolsheim (another Carnegie Mellon graduate school alumnus),

Khosla left Sun in 1985. He then joined the venturecapital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield &

Mr. Sebastian Edathy
Edathy was born in Hanover, the son of an immigrant from Kerala, India, and is a
trained sociologist. Hehas been an SPD member of the German parliament (Bundestag)
since 1998. He was a member of formerGerman chancellor Gerhard Schröder's red-
green coalition, and is now a member of chancellor AngelaMerkel's grand coalition. He
is the chairman of the Bundestag Committee on Interior Affairs and chairmanof the
German-Indian group of members of parliament.

Indra Nooyi was born into a Tamil family. She completed her schooling from Banasthali
High School, Kathmandu. She received a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Madras
Christian College in 1974, and earned an MBA at the Indian Institute of Management in
Calcutta. Begining her career in India, Nooyi held product manager positions at Johnson
& Johnson and textile firm Mettur Beardsell. She was admitted to Yale School of
Management in 1978 and earned a master's degree in Public and Private Management.
Graduating in 1980, Nooyi started at The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), and then held
strategy positions at Motorola and Asea Brown Boveri.
On August 14, 2006,Nooyi was named the successor to Steven Reinemund as CEO of the
company effective October 1, 2006.On February 5, 2007, she was named Chairman,
effective May 2, 2007. Forbes magazine ranked Nooyi thirdon the 2008 list of The
World's 100 Most Powerful Women. Fortune magazine has named Nooyi number one on
its annual ranking of Most Powerful Women in business for 2006, 2007 and 2008. In

Mr. Sabeer Bhatia
Bhatia was born to a Punjabi Hindu family in Chandigarh, India. His father, Baldev Bhatia,
was as an officer in the Indian Army who later joined the Indian Ministry of Defence, while
his mother, Daman Bhatia, was a senior official at the Central Bank of India. Bhatia was
schooled at the St. Joseph's Boys' High School in Bangalore. In 1985, he began his
undergraduate education at the Birla Institute of Technology and Science(BITS) in Pilani
and was transferred to Caltech after two years at BITS. After graduating from Caltech,
Sabeer went to Stanford University in 1989 to pursue his M.S. in Electrical Engineering. At
Stanford, he worked on Ultra Low Power VLSI Design. At Stanford, he got inspired by
entrepreneurs such as Steve Jobs and Scott McNealy and eventually decided to become
one himself. Instead of pursuing a Ph.D. after his Masters, he decided to join Apple in
1991. In 1994, Sabeer started working on new ideas for the Internet and he teamed up
with Jack Smith,a colleague from Apple Computer, Inc. Sabeer along with his colleague
invented hotmail and sold it Microsoft for $400m. Sabeer invented many webblogs like
arzoo.com, sabsebol.com.
He has got many awards including TIME’s ‘People to Watch’ in International Business.

Mr. Aneesh Paul Chopra
Aneesh Chopra is the Federal Chief Technology Officer of the United States. He served as
Virginia’s Secretary of Technology as well as having previously served as Managing Director
for the Advisory Board Company, leading the firm’s Financial Leadership Council and the
Working Council for Health Plan Executive.
"As Chief Technology Officer, Chopra's job will be to promote technological innovation to
help the country meet its goals such as job creation, reducing health care costs, and
rotecting the homeland. Together with Chief Information Officer Vivek Kundra, their jobs
are to make the government more effective, efficient, and transparent."

Mr. Vivek Kundra
Vivek Kundra is the first and current Federal Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the United
States of America. He has indicated that he will also have the role of the Office of
Management and Budget administrator for e-government and information technology. He
served in Washington, D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty's cabinet as the Chief Technology Officer
for the District and, before that, as Virginia's Assistant Secretary of Commerce and
Technology in Governor Tim Kaine's cabinet.
Kundra has been recognized by InfoWorld among the top 25 CTO's in the country and as
the 2008 IT Executive of the Year for his pioneering work to drive transparency, engage
citizens and lower the cost of government operations. The MIT Sloan CIO Symposium also
recognized Kundra among outstanding IT innovators who use leadership skills, business-
technology acumen and out-of-the-box thinking to address ever-increasing challenges
facing their organization. Additionally, upon announcing his appointment, the White House
asserted that he is known for his leadership in public safety communications, cyber
security, and IT portfolio management. Recently, Kundra was also named one of the top
ten Beltway Game Changers to watch by ExecutiveBiz.

Dr. Vikram Pandit
After education from Columbia, Vikram Pandit was a professor at Indiana University Bloomington before joining
Morgan Stanley. As head of Morgan Stanley's institutional securities division from 1994 to 2000, he pushed the
company further into electronic trading and helped to build prime brokerage services that catered to hedge funds.
He led the institutional securities from 2000 to 2005. The Indian government awarded him the Padma Bhushan in
2008. He was the President and Chief Operating Officer of the Institutional Securities and Investment Banking
Group at Morgan Stanley, where he was responsible for the overall management of the group and focused on the
trading, sales, and infrastructure aspects of the business (2000–2005). Prior to that position, Pandit served as the
managing director and head of the Worldwide Institutional Equities Division (1994–2000), and as the managing
director and head of the US Equity Syndicate (1990–1994) for Morgan Stanley. In 2005, Pandit was fired from
Morgan Stanley and started a hedge fund with other Morgan Stanley refugees named Old Lane Partners. Citigroup
subsequently purchased the poorly performing fund in 2007 for $800 million. Pandit received approximately $165.2
million for this transaction. Many analysts believe that this hefty price was paid for a hedge fund with only $4.5
billion under management to get Pandit onto Citigroup. He received an additional $2.7 million in the roughly six
months he served as head of Citigroup's investment bank and alternative investments group. In January 2008,
Pandit was given a sign-on grant of stock and performance-based options worth more than $48 million, though the
options currently have no cash value. Pandit serves on the boards of Columbia University, Columbia Business
School, the Indian School of Business and The Trinity School. He is a former board member of NASDAQ (2000–2003),
the New York City Investment Fund.

Mr. Sendhil RamamurthyFounder and President of
Ramamurthy has appeared in theatrical productions of A Servant of Two Masters in
London's West End,Indian Ink at the Soho Repertory Theatre, and East Is East at the
Manhattan Theatre Club. His film credits include Thanks to Gravity, Orient Express, Blind
Dating, and Little India. In addition, he has appeared on several TV shows, including Ellen,
Casualty, Guiding Light, Ultimate Force, Grey's Anatomy, and Numb3rs. Ramamurthy
enjoys playing football. Ramamurthy made a conscious decision to not audition for
stereotypical Indian roles, although he has been offered such parts. Ramamurthy's current
role on Heroes is his biggest role yet. Although the character of Mohinder Suresh was
originally written for a 55-year old, his audition tape and screen test were convincing
enough for writers to rewrite the part for Ramamurthy.
He is best known for the role he plays as Indian geneticist Mohinder Suresh in the NBC
drama Heroes.

In 1978 when Clutch Cargo became the band Australian Crawl, Reyne, younger brother of

studies in optics, and Ph.D. degree at Imperial College London in 1955.
In 1960, he founded Optics Technology Inc. and was Chairman of the Board, President, and
Director of Research for twelve years. In 1967 the company went public with numerous

founded Kaptron Inc. and was President and CEO until 1990 when he sold the company to

Khorana was born in Raipur, Kabirwala,Khanewal, a village in British India (now Pakistan).
His father was the village "patwari", or taxation official. He was homeschooled by his
father, and he later attended D.A.V. Multan High School. He finished his B.Sc. from Punjab
University, Lahore in 1943 and M.Sc from Punjab University in 1945. In 1945, he began
studies at the University of Liverpool. After earning a PhD in 1948, he continued his
postdoctoral studies in Zurich (1948-49). Subsequently, he spent two years at Cambridge
and his interests in proteins and nucleic acids took root at that time. In 1952 he went to
the University of British Columbia, Vancouver and in 1960 moved to the University of
Wisconsin-Madison. In 1970 Khorana became the Alfred Sloan Professor of Biology and
Chemistry at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he worked until retiring in
2007. He is a member of the Board of Scientific Governors at The Scripps Research
Institute, and currently holds Professor Emeritus status at MIT.

Ms. Kalpana Chawala
Chawla joined the NASA astronaut corps in March 1995 and was selected for her first flight
in 1998. Her first space mission began onNovember 19, 1997 as part of the six astronaut
crew that flew the Space Shuttle Columbia flight STS-87. Chawla was the first Indian-born
woman and the second person of Indian origin to fly in space, following cosmonaut Rakesh
Sharma who flew in 1984 in a Soviet spacecraft. On her first mission Chawla travelled over
10.4 million miles in 252 orbits of the earth, logging more than 360 hours in space. During
STS-87, she was responsible for deploying the Spartan Satellite which malfunctioned,
necessitating a spacewalk by Winston Scott and Takao Doi to capture the satellite. A five-
month NASA investigation fully exonerated Chawla by identifying errors in software
interfaces and the defined procedures of flight crew and ground control. On January 16,
2003, Chawla finally returned to spaceaboard Columbia on the ill-fated STS-107 mission.

Sunita Williams (born September 19, 1965) is a United States Naval officer and a NASA

she was selected to appear on the Colbert Report to announce the name for Node 3 of
the ISS.
Williams received her commission as an ensign in the US Navy from the US Naval

the Naval Test Pilot School in 1993. Williams is married to Michael Williams. The two have

Anand Jon Alexander (born 1973 in India) is a former fashion designer turned convicted

born in South India and came to the U.S. to study at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale
and later at Parsons The New School for Design. He sold collections at stores including

Roma, in Florence, Italy.
In July 2009, a judge denied Jon's request for a new trial. In the days following, Jon fired

He is the current chairman of the Democratic Action Party and a member of Parliament

A South African Tamil, she was the first non-white woman on the High Court of South Africa, and she
has also served as a judge of the International Criminal Court and President of the International
Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda. Her four-year term as High Commissioner for Human Rights began on 1
September 2008. Her tenure on the High Court was short, however, as she was soon elected by the
United Nations General Assembly to serve as a judge at the International Criminal Tribunal for
Rwanda (ICTR). She served for eight years, including four years as president. She was the only female
judge for the first four years of the tribunal.Her tenure on the ICTR is best remembered for her role in
the landmark trial of Jean Paul Akayesu, which established that rape and sexual assault could
constitute acts of genocide. Pillay said in an interview, "From time immemorial, rape has been
regarded as spoils of war. Now it will be considered a war crime. We want to send out a strong signal
that rape is no longer a trophy of war." In February 2003, she was elected to the first ever panel of
judges of the International Criminal Court and assigned to the Appeals Division. She was elected to a
six-year term, but resigned in August 2008 in order to take up her positionwith the UN.

Dr. Shashi Tharoor
Dr. Shashi Tharoor is the Indian Minister of State for External Affairs and a member of the
Indian Parliament from the Trivandrum constituency in Kerala. He served as the UN
Under-Secretary General for Communications and Public Information between June 2002
and February 2007, during the term of Secretary-General Kofi Annan at the United
Nations. In 2006, he was the official candidate of India for the office of United Nations
Secretary-General, and came second out of seven official candidates in the race. He is
