PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
Full program (TOEFL 74+) or Accelerated program (TOEFL 87+) and 1+ year undergraduate study
Full Program: Part 1 (4 months)
Intensive English Language InstructionEnglish language courses assist students in enhancing their academic English skills and building proficiency. Students choose from courses such as:
• Academic Vocabulary• Advanced Reading for Academic Purposes• Advanced Speaking and Listening for Academic
Purposes• Advanced Writing for Academic Purposes• Clear Pronunciation• Listening to Lectures• Reading Academic Texts• Speaking Clearly about the Issues• Writing Accurately and Clearly
Global Citizen Course Society & Culture: Research, Reporting, and ReflectionStudents explore different methods of academic inquiry, including writing and conducting surveys, interviewing, and analyzing data. Students report results through presentations and written reflection.
Full Program: Part 2/Accelerated Program (4 months)
Undergraduate Credit CourseStudents study along Penn undergraduates in semester-long credit course(s) through Penn’s College of Liberal and Professional Studies. Students select from diverse subject areas such as Anthropology, Economics, Environmental Studies, International Relations, and Political Science.
Academic Support CourseStudents discuss experience in credit course and receive advice and instruction in order develop effective and efficient study skills.
Research Paper WritingStudents choose research topics and receive guided instruction on writing, research and citation practices to complete a final draft by the end of the semester.
English Language ElectivesStudents elect two seven-week courses to complement the global communication skill development.
