During term 2 this year, the students at Glenvale North Entrance participated in
producing a group artwork. The completed work was entered into the 2016 Cultural
Diversity Calendar, with the theme of "Walking Together".
We were delighted in Term 4, when we found out that our entry had been chosen to
be included. This was a huge effort as the calendar goes out to all public schools in
NSW. Each student that featured in the collage received a certificate from the
Department of Education. Well done Glenvale North Entrance!

Dates to Remember
A NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL Teachers have begun writing
students’ annual reports. At
Glenvale School, students’
reports usually go home in
the last week of the term. If
you know that you are going
to be away, please let your
teacher know and we can
endeavour to have your
child’s report sent home
earlier. Each year, we also
send home a note in the
report to give you an
indication of who we expect
your child’s teacher and SLSO
will be as well as which
classroom they will be in
when they return after the
holiday break. This note also
includes a photograph of the
teacher and SLSO to assist
you to prepare your child for
the change. If you think your
chlid will need more than this
(a social story with photos of
the room perhaps), please let
your current class teacher
know so that we can prepare
this for you.
We are running very short of
spare clothes for students
who need changing for any
reason. If you have any
school clothes that have
Glenvale written in them,
please send them back in to
school so that they can be
used for emergencies. If you
have any good, clean uniforms
that your child has outgrown,
please consider sending them
in to school to help boost our
supplies of spare clothes.
They can also be used as part
of the uniform pool for those
who need assistance in this
way. As well as uniforms, we
often need undies and socks if
you have any to spare at
home.
Many thanks as always,
Regards,
Gwenda Williamson

PRESENTATION DAY
Glenvale School Newsletter Page 3
Yesterday I had the great privilege of attending the annual Probus awards for our area. Each year
the Probus Club recognises two students from Point Clare Public School, Henry Kendall High
School and Glenvale School. This year, our awards went to Jade McMahon and Daniel Cowdrey -
two students of whom we are very proud. Their families were delighted to join them at this very
special and prestigious event.

Please consider sending in the
$35 as soon as you are able to
do so. Many thanks to those
who have already done so.
All donations to the school over
$2 are tax deductible as
Glenvale is registered with the
Australian Tax Office as a
deductible gift recipient.
Every public school asks for a
small contribution towards the
many costs associated with
education programs. At
Glenvale we ask that parents
contribute $35 per child each
year. This has not changed for
many years and is a very small
contribution by comparison with
other schools even though our
costs can be much higher.
