Dear Parents Many thanks to our parents who voiced concern in relation to the Busways late pick up of school children each day at the end of school. Busways have now been picking up children at 3:26pm daily as a result. This is a much better outcome than 3:31pm. It is hoped in their wisdom they continue to put our children’s safety first. Many thanks to Tanya Davies, our local member, who represented us recently with Busways. Our Year 6 Mini Fete is fast approaching and Year 6 and classes are preparing for a big day on 6th November. Parents and grandparents are welcome to attend, commencing at 12:00pm. However, high school students are only to attend if absent from school and accompanying their parents (not in school uniform). This week we welcome our Kindergarten children for 2014 at Kinder Orientation on Thursday 31st October at 9:15am. This is an exciting time for new parents and our new Kinders. OUR VOLUNTARY SCHOOL CONTRIBUTIONS (SCHOOL FEES) 2013

This is the first notification that our Voluntary Contribution is now due by all families. We rely heavily on this contribution to assist in projects for student use. This year we will use the money to regrass areas under the shade cloth in the back playground for students to use. Currently we have patches of dirt. Please pay this as soon as possible to the School Office. Amount due is $50 per child or $100 for 2 or more children.

5c Fundraiser creates a

Competitive Spirit Excellent fundraising all classes! The money will go towards replacing sports equipment and play equipment. Classes raised $2426.75. Congratulations pizza lunch winners KK and 4C who raised the most funds.

Christmas Appeal 2013

Our students are again asked to bring in non perishable food goods for our local Anglican church Toys n Tucker appeal. Eg. tins of vegetables, hams, biscuits, shortbread, Christmas foods. Boxes are located in the foyer of the school. Please give generously.

Swim School—Great Success

Thanks to the wonderful organisation by Mrs Haberley our annual Swim Scheme program is in full implementation til the end of this week. Students from Year 2-Year4 are enrolled and learning basic water safety and swimming skills.

Year 5 Creative Tactile Art—Donated to

YEAR 6 MINI FETE WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 6TH

Thank you to all the Year 6 parents who have helped their children in the preparation of their mini fete stalls. Children will begin putting up their stalls for the fete from 10:30am on Wednesday with the mini fete beginning from 12:00pm. Parents helping with the organisation of the stalls are asked to meet their children at their stalls from 11:30am. At the conclusion of the fete at 2pm Year 6 children have been asked to assist in the dismantling of the fete and the clean-up. Parents are asked not to pick up their children early to ensure that the above tasks take place. We are looking for parents wishing to assist on the Trash and Treasure stall at the mini fete. Please return the slip enclosed on page 3 to the school office if you can assist.

TRASH AND TREASURE STALL

Year 6 would like to request that donations of ‘Trash and Treasure’ items be brought to school on MONDAY and TUESDAY ONLY next week before the mini fete. Please only worthwhile items that can be sold—no broken items. This stall will be set up near the gates into the playground on mini fete day. All items can be delivered to the Staffroom door near the green playground entry gates.
