Dear Parents Many thanks to our parents who voiced concern in relation to the Busways late pick up of school children each day at the end of school. Busways have now been picking up children at 3:26pm daily as a result. This is a much better outcome than 3:31pm. It is hoped in their wisdom they continue to put our children’s safety first. Many thanks to Tanya Davies, our local member, who represented us recently with Busways. Our Year 6 Mini Fete is fast approaching and Year 6 and classes are preparing for a big day on 6th November. Parents and grandparents are welcome to attend, commencing at 12:00pm. However, high school students are only to attend if absent from school and accompanying their parents (not in school uniform). This week we welcome our Kindergarten children for 2014 at Kinder Orientation on Thursday 31st October at 9:15am. This is an exciting time for new parents and our new Kinders. We welcome them and commence a program of transition times to ensure they feel welcome and start school smoothly. Finally congratulations to our four senior writers ( Chad, Caitlin, Alice and Rhiannon ) who tonight will present their written prose on a ‘fiction set in a historical setting’ at Glenmore Park High School along with students from our cluster of schools. There will be many proud parents in the audience.
“Public Speaking Stars” Public Speaking final held at Surveyors Creek PS last week was a great success for our students. Excellent oral presentations and speeches were presented by Caitlin, Ella, Elina and Georgia.

OUR VOLUNTARY SCHOOL CONTRIBUTIONS (SCHOOL FEES) 2013
This is the first notification that our Voluntary Contribution is now due by all families. We rely heavily on this contribution to assist in projects for student use. YEAR 6 MINI FETE WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 6TH
Thank you to all the Year 6 parents who have helped their children in the preparation of their mini fete stalls. Children will begin putting up their stalls for the fete from 10:30am on Wednesday with the mini fete beginning from 12:00pm. Parents helping with the organisation of the stalls are asked to meet their children at their stalls from 11:30am. At the conclusion of the fete at 2pm Year 6 children have been asked to assist in the dismantling of the fete and the clean-up. Parents are asked not to pick up their children early to ensure that the above tasks take place. We are looking for parents wishing to assist on the Trash and Treasure stall at the mini fete. Please return the slip enclosed on page 3 to the school office if you can assist.
