Summary This book is about a boy called Dally who has leukaemia.

His older brother, Martin Dean meets a strange guy at

the train station that dressed, acted and talked like

someone from the early1920s. Gilbert was a great story

teller and his stories always cheered Dally up and gave

him happiness in his very sad life thanks to the horrible

disease leukaemia. Conspiracies start in the Dean

household regarding Gilbert. Martin and dally begin to

start thinking Gilbert is a ghost because of the strange

manner of which he carries himself. It is a real mystery

that will leave you hanging for more…

Main Characters

Dally- a boy sick with leukaemia. He loves frogs.

Martin- is always worried about his little brother, Dally.

Marty is the one who meets gilbert at the train tracks.

Gilbert- He helped Dally more than anyone ever could.

Not physically, but mentally. He was a great story-teller.

We all had very mixed feelings about this book. Some

thought it was good, some thought it was not as exciting as

the others thought it was.

Overall, we rate this book 2 stars out of 5.

When he was young he was a real nature boy, and always

loved being outdoors, or star gazing.

Overall, we thought that this book was well constructed

and had a good story plot.
