Geography is the study of places and the relationships between people and their environments.
Geography means “description of the earth's surface.”
India is the world's 7th largest country in size.
On the northern border of India are the highest mountains in the world-The Himalayas.
It is formed by the three major rivers –Ganges, Indus, Brahmaputra and their tributaries.
It is the source of major food grains in India.
• The only desert in India is the Thar Desert.
• It is also known as the Great Indian Desert.
A major part of this desert lies in Rajasthan .
It forms a natural border between India and Pakistan.
Coastal plains are
situated along the Bay of
Bengal ( Eastern coastal
plains ) and the Arabian Sea
(Western coastal plains).
The land mass of the world is divided into seven continents . They are
