THE CHALLENGELike many companies in the travel industry, Montrose caters to customers located across the United States. People turn to Montrose to books trips, flights and cruises to destinations near and far.

Given its diverse products and customer needs, Montrose was struggling to get the right information in front of its web visitors, and to do so quickly in order to maximize the opportunity to convert them and promote time-sensitive offers.

THE SOLUTIONTo address this challenge, Montrose established a partnership with Evergage. Using the Evergage platform, the company was able to gain deeper insights into its site visitors and act on those insights in real time. Specifically, Evergage has provided Montrose with the ability to personalize experiences based on geography in two key ways:  

• Recognize where site visitors are located to present them with relevant offers for their location

• Identify destinations people are interested in – as they start to type – and queue up targeted messages based on those destinations

THE RESULTSUsing Evergage, Montrose has been able to provide the most relevant offers based on each visitor’s current location or where they plan to go.  

In one case, Montrose had an offer for a cruise that was only available to people in California. The company initially used traditional communication channels – email, a landing page, and their own travel agents. However, with sales not quite as anticipated, Montrose turned to Evergage to identify each website visitor’s current location and then selectively present an offer – via on onsite message – to those in California. This resulted in a 19% lift in bookings compared to other attempts to drive sales.

In another example, Montrose wanted to promote vacation packages to travelers interested in visiting any one of eight different European cities. With Evergage, Montrose was able to identify the destination someone was interested in visiting and then recommend a travel package (e.g., a combination of a flight, hotel and/or tour) that matched the particular destination. The offer was presented during the booking process, and the campaign resulted in a 17% lift in conversions for the featured package.

Using the Evergage platform, Montrose has helped its visitors find information they are looking for and take advantage of relevant offers. And the company continues to find new ways to improve customer satisfaction and drive incremental revenue through personalized experiences.
