N O T I F I C A T I O N

1. The Examinations referred to in the list attached to this notification (see Page 7

& 8) will be conducted by the University of Calicut during March/April/May

2010. The dates fixed for receipt of applications, Attendance and Progress

Certificates and the date of commencement of examinations are indicated

therein. Detailed time tables of the examinations will be notified later.

Notifications regarding the conduct of U.G Semester (CCSS Pattern) and P.G.

Semester examinations will be issued separately.

2. Applications should be submitted in the prescribed manner. Candidates shall

log on to the University website www.universityofcalicut.info and access the

online registration link for online registration of University examinations.

Essential details regarding the procedure to be followed for online registration

are incorporated in the ‘Help’ function of the online registration link.

Candidates shall read these instructions carefully before filling up the online

registration form. Candidates who are submitting the online examination

applications for the first time should upload their photo in the online

application form. Private/SDE candidates and College candidates applying for

supplementary/improvement appearances should take a print out of the filled in

online application form and get it duly attested by a Gazatted Officer. They

shall then send this print out of the online application to the undersigned within

the time limit prescribed herein for the respective examinations. Candidates

applying in conventional application form should affix two copies of their

recent passport size photograph in the space provided for it in the application

form and the same shall be got duly attested. Candidates, (other than those

under Private Study) who are applying for the examination for the first time

should forward their application through the Principal of the College/Director,

School of Distance Education as the case may be.

3. 2003 to 2007 Admn. Regular/Private candidates (candidates with alphanumeric

register number) appearing for final year B.A./B.Com./B.B.A/B.A. Afsal-ul-

Ulama in Arabic degree examinations March/April 2010 shall send the

applications online. Online registration facility for the final year degree

examinations March/April 2010 will be available in the University website

(www.universityofcalicut.info) from 26th December 2009 to 13

th January 2010.

2002 & earlier admission Regular/Private/SDE candidates appearing for final

year B.A./B.Com./B.B.A/B.A. Afsal-ul-Ulama in Arabic degree examinations

March/April 2010 and all candidates appearing for final year B.Sc./B.C.A.

degree examinations March/April 2010 shall send the applications in

conventional form within the time limit prescribed herein for the respective

examinations. 2007 Admn. SDE candidates appearing for final year

B.A./B.Sc./B.Com./B.B.A. degree examinations March/April 2010 shall send

5. Candidates with alphanumeric register number (2003 admission onwards)

appearing for M.A./M.Sc. Final (Regular/Supplementary/Improvement)

examinations April/May 2010 and M.A./M.Sc. Previous (Supplementary/

Improvement) examinations April/May 2010 shall send the applications online.

Online registration facility for M.A./M.Sc. Final and M.A./M.Sc. Previous

(Supplementary/Improvement) examinations April/May 2010 will be available

in the University website from 1st January 2010 to 23

rd January 2010. The

print out of the application, along with chalan receipt for the fee remitted, shall

reach the Pareeksha Bhavan on or before 20th February 2010. 2002 & earlier

admission candidates appearing for M.A./M.Sc. Final (Supplementary/

Improvement) examinations April/May 2010 and M.A./M.Sc. Previous

(Supplementary/Improvement) examinations April/May 2010 shall send the

6. 2009 Admission SDE candidates appearing for M.A./M.Sc. Previous (Regular)

examinations April/May 2010 shall send the applications online. Online

registration facility for M.A./M.Sc. Previous (Regular) examinations April/May

2010 will be available in the University website from 11th January 2010 to

30th January 2010. The print out of the application, along with necessary

enclosures like original qualifying certificate, chalan receipt for the fee remitted

etc, shall reach the Pareeksha Bhavan on or before 27th February 2010.

7. All candidates appearing for Afsal-ul-Ulama Preliminary First/Second year and

Adib-i-Fazil Preliminary/Final examinations April/May 2010 shall send the

applications in conventional form.

8. Examination fee, including Centralized Valuation Camp fee, should be remitted by

chalan under the Head of Account mentioned below and the chalan receipt in original

should be sent along with the application.

9. Candidates residing outside the State may, however, remit the fee by D.D. payable to

the Finance Officer, University of Calicut clearly indicating the purpose of

remittance.

10. The Principals of colleges should remit the fee for each examination (i.e. B.A./B.Sc./

B.Com./B.B.A/B.C.A.) year wise by separate chalan and should also forward the

respective list of candidates under separate covering letters with two copies of the

nominal roll of candidates. The nominal rolls should be prepared examination wise,

subject wise, language wise and also in the alphabetical order. The examination fee,

mark list fee, late fee etc. in respect of a particular examination shall be remitted by

single chalan. The examination fee in respect of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC

etc. should also be paid in advance as already intimated, as per University letter No.

EAC/VII/2/24327/94 dated, 10.1.94, failing which, the hall tickets of such candidates

will be withheld.

11. In addition to the examination fee, first appearance candidates of all Bachelors Degree

courses, Afzal-ul-Ulama Preliminary First/Second year courses and Adib-I-Fazil

Preliminary/Final courses should remit Rs. 100/- as Centralized Valuation Camp fee

and supplementary/improvement candidates of these course should remit Rs. 20/- per

paper subject to a maximum of Rs. 100/- as Centralized Valuation Camp fee. All first

appearance/supplementary appearance/improvement appearance candidates of P.G.

courses should remit Rs. 100/- (irrespective of the number of papers appearing for) as

Centralized Valuation Camp fee in addition to the examination fee.

12. Candidates appearing for the final year Bachelors Degree examinations and P.G.

Degree examinations should also remit the required fee for provisional certificate

along with an application for provisional certificate in the prescribed form.

III) Fee for Provisional Certificate :

iii) Post Graduate degree courses : Rs. 65/-

14. Candidates eligible for exemption from payment of fee for their second chance should

forward their applications through the Head of the Institution from where they were

presented for the examinations for the first time, if they want to avail the facility. In

such cases, the Principal/ Head of the Department shall claim and credit the amount to

University Fund before the commencement of the examination. Applications

received directly from such candidates without examination fee will be rejected.

15. Candidates to appear for Afsal-ul-Ulama (Preliminary) Second Year examination or

Second/Third year B.A./B.Com., B.A. (Afsal-ul-Ulama) Arabic Degree examinations

as private candidates after discontinuing institutional study and also those applying

for optional change/second language change/additional optional/re-registration after

having applied/appeared for examinations should submit their application in the

conventional form both for Private registration and the respective examination

simultaneously within the time limit prescribed herein for the respective

examinations.

16. First year B.Sc. candidates of regular colleges intending to appear for Second year

B.Sc. examination through private registration after discontinuing institutional study

will not be given private registration for Second year B.Sc. course & examination.

Such candidates should cancel the First year B.Sc. course registration & examination

registration and register afresh as private candidate for first year B.A./B.Sc. course &

examination. The fee for cancellation of first year B.Sc. course registration &

examination registration in such cases is Rs. 1250/-

17. Second year B.Sc. candidates of regular colleges, after discontinuing institutional

study, will not be given private registration for third year B.Sc. course & examination.

Such candidates, if they have passed the Part I & II subjects, have the option to cancel

Part III B.Sc. subject retaining the marks scored in Part I & II and can apply for

private registration for Second year B.A. course & examination in conventional form.

18. The candidates, who have passed the P.G. Final examination before 2008 are not

eligible to apply for Second improvement. Candidates availing the second

improvement chance will have to appear for the previous and final examinations

together by submitting separate applications, if they desire to improve both previous

and final. They should remit Rs. 300/- as Second Improvement Registration fee, in

addition to the examination fee, and enclose the original chalan receipt along with the

application for P.G. final examination. A photocopy of this chalan receipt should also

be enclosed with the application for P.G. previous examination. Candidates for P.G.

Second improvement and additional P.G. previous/final examinations should also

submit their applications within the time limit prescribed above.

19. First and second semester M.Com. degree examinations for the 2009 admission SDE

candidates will be conducted together at the end of second semester. Similarly third

and fourth semester M.Com. degree examinations for the 2008 admission SDE

candidates will be conducted together at the end of fourth semester. Notifications

regarding the conduct of these examinations will be issued separately.

20. All candidates including supplementary candidates shall choose the same centre of

examinations as was allotted to them for their previous sitting.

21. Supplementary/Improvement candidates for the First year P.G. examination should

invariably indicate the fact at the top of their application.

22. Certificate of Attendance and Progress in respect of candidates presented by affiliated

Colleges and University Departments should be furnished within the time limit

prescribed for the same, failing which, their hall tickets will be withheld.

23. Application for condonation of shortage of attendance should be forwarded to the

Registrar, sufficiently in advance under proper intimation to the Controller of

Examinations.

24. Applications, complete in every respect, should be submitted so as to be received in

the Pareeksha Bhavan within the time limit prescribed. Incomplete and defective

applications and applications received late will be rejected. Applications will,

however, be accepted after prescribed date only as per the provisions contained in the

U.O. No. EG1/1/79748/96 dated 04-02-2005. The examination fee remitted will

neither be refunded nor held over for any subsequent examinations.
