AlthoughtheGeniumX3isapassivekneejoint,whichmeansitcannotactivelyinitiatemovements,negotiatingstairsstep-over-stepispossible�Inordertodoso,theprostheticfoothastobeplacedonthenexthigherstepfirstwiththekneeflexed�Thenthehipisextended,whichalsoextendstheknee�Thisrequiresasufficientlysecureholdinthesocketandacertainlevelofresiduallimbstrength�Duringphysiologicalstairclimbing,kneeflexionisaccomplishedbyactivelyraisingthelowerpartoftheleg�Withkneejoint,kneeflexioncan
