SLPGO General Meeting Meeting Minutes April 16, 2015 5:15pm Present: members Next meeting: May 21 st , 2015 I. Attendance II. New Business a. Schedule End of the Year Meeting with Dr. Swartz i. Doodle poll b. Who is a NSSLHA member? (check your name off on sheet) c. ASHA stuff – Vice President (Lauren) i. 209 days until we fly out! ii. Volunteer applications are now available online iii. Reimburses student registration fee ($215 last year) iv. Deadline is September 9 th v. A volunteer position is not a guarantee vi. Lodging: registration doesn’t open until August 1. Need to decide on cost we want ranges from $132 to $200 per night 2. Proximity to center 3. Need to decide how we want to book them (on our own, as a group, etc.) majority wants to book together 4. Do some research on your own to decide what hotels you like d. CDO faculty meetings – President (Vanessa) i. Vanessa and Lauren met with Dr. Swartz about our survey’s about the semester ii. Swartz welcomed feedback, questions, and concerns iii. Students should explain their thoughts and concerns to supervisors or individuals there are conflicts with first. Bring peer witness in room if needed. iv. Comments brought to Ann Ratcliff and Theresa v. Dr. Swartz values SLPGO and encourages us to do more community service vi. Meeting with Dr. Swartz at end of semester coming up vii. April 24 th is the next meeting, minutes from last meeting will come out day before that meeting III. Announcements/Inquiry a. III. Announcements/Inquirya. Treasurer Update (Krandall):

i. How much is in our account: $4.500 (includes dues -$1280) 1. $400 for NSSLHA

b. Social (Audrey & Michelle): i. Pitch Perfect 2 social on Friday, May 15th

1. Times not available yet ii. Cabin social the weekend of May 22nd

1. Or a party at someone’s apartment where we dress like a professor? c. SLAC(Rebecca):

i. Update on the future of SLAC and the ice cream social if I get any numbers back on how much was donated after today

ii. Last meeting was 2 weeks ago, future of SLAC was discussed iii. Next year ideas: all eboards of SLAC meet, create an OrgSync page, Rebecca will

be emailing a list of all eboard members names, positions and emails

d. Fundraising (Laura, Emme, Shelby): i. Votes/input for summer semester fundraisers (Warrior Dash and more)

1. Summer fundraising a. May

i. SSC sponsorship shirts 1. For a point have a business agree to

sponsor on the shirt, or you can buy one 2. Tell the business we will wear the t-shirts

during SSC3. Color options: baby blue, lime green and

gray ii. YOGSO shirts or cozies

1. Interest in cozies preferred over tshirts 2. This would be included in the SSC shirt sale

iii. Can Drive 1. Will be done in May, chairs will decide

logistics b. June

i. Sand Volleyball tournament 1. A subcommittee leaders: Lauren

c. July i. SSC Friday Night Bowling Event (July 17th or 24th)

1. Invite campers, families, professors, friends 2. Point: attend/ participate in bowling

ii. Mt. Pleasant Summer Concert Series Lemonade/Snack stand (July 10th or 31st)

d. August i. Warrior Dash – August 1st, Mt Morris, MI

1. 31 people = $1000 2. About 1.5 hour commute3. Early shift 6:30 – 1:00pm
