Position Overview The General Manager Operations will provide operational management and leadership to ensure the delivery of all Netball in WA core business across Netball WA and its two subsidiary companies of West Coast Fever Netball Club and Glass Jar Australia. • Assist and advise internal departments in the preparation of annual budgets and associated financial management plans;

• Ensure best practice operations and management of financial and accounting systems (in a timely and accurate manner) including financial budgeting and forecasting, accounts payable and receivable, cash and funds management, taxation & statistical returns, payroll, and regular analysis and reporting of results;

• Monitor the wider organisational financial performance and advise and recommend appropriate risk mitigation strategies to ensure financial control;

• Maintain and enhance budgeting and financial control systems across the organisation;

• In collaboration with contract service providers and key internal staff, ensure the effective administration of the organisations technology and information management systems;

• Develop and oversee the operational plans of Netball WA, WCF and GJA in conjunction with GM – People & Culture;

• Oversee and manage financial management and office management staff; • Manage Netball in WA legal procedures, protocols and requirements; • Lead the review and update of all Netball in WA policies and procedures in

conjunction with GM People and Culture; • Administration of Netball WA Office and oversight of Netball WA assets; • Review and implement ICT strategy; • Work closely with High Performance, Development, Event, Commercial,

Marketing, Media and Communications Departments to establish a comprehensive activity calendar;

• Assist CEO in delivery of key messages and achievement of key strategic goals. • Prepare reports and conduct presentations as required; • Attend meetings and represent Netball in WA on various groups and

committees and liaise with other organisations and individuals on matters as required;

• Any other duties within the Employees capabilities and which is reasonable to expect the Employee to undertake as directed by the CEO from time to time

Criteria

Essential Candidates applying for this role must have the following:

• Minimum of five years’ experience in a similar, senior operations management role;

• Demonstrated experience in the management of financial and related accounting functions within a medium to large organisational environment;

• Proven ability to develop, implement and manage systems, policies and processes that promote financial and operational management excellence;

• Strong leadership abilities including well-developed interpersonal and communication skills and proven ability to work within and effectively manage a small team of staff;

• Strong communication (written and verbal), negotiation and relationship building skills

• Strong time management, presentation skills and the ability to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks

• Excellent computer skills and information technology literacy with a range of software applications

• Experience in project management and management of staff, volunteers and contractors

• Preparedness to be flexible in respect to work hours and intrastate travel • A current driver’s license • Working with Children Clearance • Desired • Exposure in working within a member-based association, particularly of a

sporting nature. • Post-graduate qualification in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration or

Management. • A hands-on appreciation of sport and in particular professional team sport

Hours of work This role is a full-time maximum term (3 years with possible extension), working 37.5 hours per week. The nature of this position requires some out of hours and weekend work.

Salary/Benefits A salary of $110-120,000 per annum plus superannuation will be negotiated with the successful applicant dependent on level of experience.
