Mini-Projects

For your mini-projects you have to form groups of up to 6 students in each group.Then you have to choose a science fiction technology.Then you will do some research about this technology and prepare a presentation.In the last week you will have to present your findings to the class (10-12 min presentation + 5 min Q&A).You will have to write a report (8 pages including max 2 pages figures) as well (deadline: 29 November 2011).

In the following there are guidelines some questions you should answer in your presentation:

How realistic is this technology? Do you think it will be possible to build this kind of technology some day? Do you think this will be a very useful technology? What will this technology mainly be used for, e.g. will it be part of our daily life or will it be just used by a small group of people? Where are the problems and challenges when trying to build this technology, why isn't it built already?Give examples of this kind of technology from science fiction movies, tv series and novels. Compare the use of this technology in different movies and scifi stories.
