Technology upgrades, such as the use of Apple iPad tablets in board and committee meetings, allow the Chamber staff to conduct business more efficiently. Tablets allow users to access
up-to-the-minute information while saving staff time and high volumes of paper previously used to build presentation booklets.

direct Connect ReformattingAfter two successful years of “speed networking,” the Chamber's monthly Direct Connect event underwent an overhaul. The fast-paced morning networking format now invites attendees to meet and greet more potential connections through a rotating roundtable structure. Upon arrival, attendees are given a rotation schedule for four rounds. Participants take a seat at the assigned table for round one and have 90 seconds to tell the rest of their table about their business. At the completion of each round, participants move to a new table to begin again with a new set of connections. This exciting new format allows for maximum exposure of each business during the event.
A large part of why the Garland Chamber of Commerce remains successful and effective is because the organization continues to evolve in order to meet the ever-changing needs of the local business community. Take a look at just a few of the ways the Chamber brought its members relevant resources in 2014.
