Introduction

• The reason why I came to Austin's colony is because my family and I needed more money. I got to the colony by riding on a ship from new Orleans. I qualified for the land by having 1,000 dollars to invest.

Introduction

• My trip to the west was really harsh and difficult because sometimes their would be harsh winters , and it would be so cold. There would also be Indian attacks, the lively ship sank , and there was also droughts.

• In 1822 I arrived with 1,000 dollars to invest. On of the events that happened was harsh winters it was so freezing. Some of the other events that happened was that cattle died and I invested 140 dollars on cattle

• In that same year lots of building took place so we needed of lumber. I invested 140 dollars on lumber and got back triple that amount back. Also that year the lively ship was late in arriving

• In 1823 I arrived with 1206.40 dollars to invest. One of the events that happened was the lively ship sank. There was a dispute with mexicans over export of cotton. A good thing that happened that year was there was a bunch of cattle.

• I invested 250 dollars on cattle and got back triple that amount my family and I were so happy. The winter that year wasn’t that bad as in 1822. Also that year we didn’t need that much lumber anymore, and I invested 50 dollars on lumber and got back that same amount.

• In 1824 I had 1532.80 dollars to invest. That year one of the events that happened was the colony thrived. The cotton bumped up and I invested 400 dollars on cotton. I got back triple that amount, that was the best year ever.

• Also there was a high demand for lumber-lots of building. I invested 150 dollars, and got back double that amount. There was also a high demand for beef and I invested 150 dollars, and got back double that amount too.

Conclusion

• IN the beginning of the three years I only had 1,000 dollars. By the end of those three years I choose to live in the town Victoria. Although I had to pay 100 dollars for living in that town I made 2459.20 dollars.

Conclusion

• I would desire to stay in Austin's colony because I need to make more money for my family. Since I made enough money. I got to continue to live in Austin's colony, but I am going to san Felipe. I can’t wait to see what happens in the future.
