Kansas City owns a 31-18 (.633) record in regular season play against Seattle. The two teams were regular combatants in the AFC West from ’77-01 before realignment moved the Seahawks to the NFC West in 2002. The most recent regular season meeting between the two teams resulted in a 35-28 Kansas City victory at Arrowhead (10/29/06). The Chiefs accumulated 499 yards of total offense in that contest, rushing the ball 53 times for 191 yards and registering 308 net passing yards. Kansas City has won its last three contests against the Seahawks at Arrowhead, but has dropped its last two games in Seattle. The Chiefs last trip to Seattle saw a 39-32 Seahawks victory (11/24/02) as the two teams combined for 1,086 yards of total offense. The Chiefs posted a 24-17 victory against Seattle at Arrowhead (10/2/00) in a Monday Night Football contest that was also simulcast to 4,391 fans at Kauffman Stadium. The combined 82,893 fans who watched the contest marked the largest crowd ever assembled to witness a Chiefs game at the Truman Sports Complex.

The Chiefs hold an 18-8 (.692) edge in regular season competition against the Seahawks dating back to ’90, including a stellar 10-2 (.833) mark at Arrowhead. The Chiefs won eight straight contests against the Seahawks at Arrowhead from ’91-98. Seattle has won four of its last fi ve regular season meetings with KC in the Northwest. KC was 10-11 (.476) all-time against Seattle at the Kingdome, but owns a 20-7 (.741) all-time regular season record in outdoor contests vs. the Seahawks (20-5 at Arrowhead, 1-1 at Husky Stadium and 0-1 at Qwest Field). One of the most memorable games in the Chiefs-Seahawks series was a 17-16 Seattle win at Arrowhead (11/11/90) as Hall of Fame LB Derrick Thomas set an NFL single-game record with 7.0 sacks. However, sack number 8.0 slipped through his grasp as QB Dave Krieg threw the game-winning 25-yard TD to WR Paul Skansi on the game’s fi nal play.

The Chiefs make their fi rst regular season visit to Seattle since 2002 as Kansas City faces the Seahawks at Qwest Field on Sunday (11/28). Kansas City is seeking to register its 400th regular season or postseason win in franchise history. The club currently has a 399-376-12 (.514) all-time record, including a 391-363-12 mark in the regular season. The Chiefs are 2-0 against NFC West opponents this season after posting a 31-10 home win vs. San Francisco (9/26) and a 31-13 victory last week vs. Arizona (11/21). Kansas City has won eight straight games vs. NFC West foes dating back to 2002. The Chiefs are looking to secure their fi rst win in Seattle since a 24-19 win at Husky Stadium (10/29/00). Kansas City is seeking to maintain its place atop the AFC West standings ahead of Oakland (5-5) and San Diego (5-5). Head Coach Todd Haley has guided the Chiefs to six victories this season after the franchise combined for six wins in the two seasons prior to his arrival. During his two-year tenure as Cardinals offensive coordinator from 2007-08, Arizona posted a 3-1 mark against the Seahawks. Seattle leads the NFC West with a 5-5 record and is 3-1 at Qwest Field in 2010 under fi rst-year Head Coach Pete Carroll. The Seahawks are coming off a 34-19 loss at New Orleans (11/21). The Chiefs have committed a league-low seven giveaways in 2010 and are on pace to fi nish the year with 11 turnovers, which would break the NFL single-season record of 12 giveways established by the ’82 Chiefs. Kansas City is 4-1 in games when it doesn’t commit a turnover this season and has allowed an NFL-low seven points off turnovers. The Chiefs boast the NFL’s top rushing attack (164.7 ypg) led by RBs Jamaal Charles (848 yards) and Thomas Jones (644), giving KC the NFL’s only tandem of rushers with over 600 yards apiece. In fact, Charles’ 848 yards exceeds the 837 team rushing yards posted by Seattle. QB Matt Cassel has a +14 TD/INT differential (18 TDs, 4 INTs), meaning only Patriots QB Tom Brady at +15 (19 TDs, 4 INTs) is better this season. WR Dwayne Bowe has caught a TD in a franchise-record six straight contests and has an NFL-high 11 TD receptions on the year, one shy of the team single-season record of 12 established by E Chris Burford in ’62. The Chiefs have permitted just 12.8 ppg in their six victories and join Chicago as the only other team with six or more wins that that has permitted 20 points or less in all of their victories. The Seahawks have allowed 20 points or less in all fi ve of their wins in 2010. Next week Kansas City returns home for a divisional duel vs. Denver (12/5), while Seattle is home vs. Carolina (12/5).

Despite piling up 499 yards of offense and holding the ball for over 42 minutes, Kansas City needed late-game heroics and four TDs from RB Larry Johnson to pull out this thrilling 35-28 win over Seattle.

Chiefs QB Damon Huard – who was a game-time decision to play after suffering a groin injury in practice that week – turned in a career-high 312 passing yards and a 124.1 rating.

Trailing 3-0, Seattle LB Julian Peterson made the first game-changing play of the afternoon, sacking and stripping Huard. The fumble at the Chiefs seven-yard line resulted in a seven-yard TD pass from QB Seneca Wallace to WR D.J. Hackett.

The Chiefs answered right back as Johnson ripped off a 38-yard run, then finished off the drive with a three-yard TD dive for a 10-7 Chiefs lead. Johnson would finish with 155 yards rushing yards on a franchise single-game record 39 carries.

Kansas City added another field goal before Wallace brought the Seahawks back with a three-yard TD pass to TE Jerramy Stevens to grab a 14-13 lead late in the first half. The Chiefs snuck in another touchdown just before halftime as Huard found WR Eddie Kennison on gains of 19 and 18 yards before he dumped off a short pass to Johnson over the middle for a nine-yard TD pass and a 20-14 halftime cushion.

Kansas City’s defense forced a punt on the opening possession of the second half and the offense marched off a lengthy touchdown drive to take the first two-score lead of the afternoon. Johnson and RB Michael Bennett accounted for 63 of the Chiefs 88 yards on the drive that took 6:51 off the clock. Johnson capped the scoring march with a two-yard TD dive from Johnson, giving KC a 27-14 lead.

The momentum turned back to Seattle when Chiefs P Dustin Colquitt fumbled trying to pass after dropping a field goal snap. Seahawks CB Kelly Herndon scooped up the bizarre fumble and returned it 61 yards for a TD, making it 27-21 late in the third quarter. After a missed Chiefs field goal, Wallace fired a 49-yard TD to a wide-open WR Darrell Jackson to give the Seahawks a 28-27 lead with 6:30 remaining.

The stage was set for the Chiefs late-game heroics as Huard first dropped a 51-yard bomb to WR Eddie Kennison to the Seattle seven-yard line. From there, Johnson found the end zone for the fourth time of the day, this time on a three-yard run. Huard converted the two-point try with a pass to TE Tony Gonzalez giving KC a 35-28 lead with just 2:15 remaining.

The Chiefs defense appeared to have won the game when DE Tamba Hali tipped a Wallace pass into the arms of DE Jared Allen for an interception. However, Allen fumbled the return and inexplicably gave the ball back to Seattle with 1:58 left.

The Seahawks could get no deeper than the Chiefs 41-yard line as LB Derrick Johnson sacked Wallace on third down and Law tackled FB Mack Strong on fourth down to preserve the Chiefs 35-28 win.

GAME NOTES• RB Larry Johnson established Chiefs single-game records for rushing attempts (39) and total attempts from scrimmage (41), breaking the previous record of 38 (38 rushes, 0 receptions) established by RB Christian Okoye at Green Bay (12/10/89).

WR Dwayne Bowe hauls in two TD passes in his eighth career 100-yard receiving game.

The Chiefs registered a convincing 31-13 victory vs. Arizona to move to 5-0 at Arrowhead this season. WR Dwayne Bowe registered his sixth straight game with at least one TD pass, finishing the game with six catches for 109 yards and two TD catches. RB Thomas Jones also added two TDs on runs of one and three yards. QB Matt Cassel completed 15 of 24 passes for 193 yards with two TDs, good for a 115.5 rating, his second straight game with a triple-digit mark.

The Chiefs won the toss and deferred to the second half. Arizona QB Derek Anderson completed four of five passes for 51 yards on the Cardinals opening drive, but the Chiefs defense stiffened in the Red Zone, setting up a 36-yard K Jay Feely FG to put Arizona up 3-0 with early in the first quarter.

Kansas City was forced to punt on their opening drive and the teams went punt-for-punt until early in the second period when Cassel connected with Bowe for 37 yards to move the ball to the Arizona one-yard line. On third and goal from the one, Cassel hit Bowe in the end zone, putting the Chiefs up 7-3 with 13:35 left to play in the second quarter.

Following another Arizona punt, Cassel connected with TE Jake O’Connell for an 18-yard completion while an unnecessary roughness penalty tacked on an extra 15 yards. RB Jamaal Charles grabbed a pass out of the backfield and ran 25 yards to the one-yard line. Two plays later, Jones jumped over the goal line to put the Chiefs up 14-3 with 10:14 left to play in the first half.

After an Arizona punt pinned the Chiefs at their own one-yard line with 0:57 remaining in the first half, Head Coach Todd Haley shrewdly milked the clock to get to intermission with a 14-3 lead.

The Chiefs took the opening possession of the second half and Cassel promptly picked apart the Cardinals defense, connecting with three different receivers in four plays before Charles sprinted 39 yards to the Arizona three-yard line. On the next play, Jones plowed through the line for his second rushing score of the game, giving KC 21-3 advantage.

Arizona tried to respond driving to the Chiefs 11-yard line, but KC's defense held the Cardinals. Feely hit a 29-yard FG to make the score 21-6.

The Chiefs responded on its ensuing drive with a K Ryan Succop 23-yard FG to extend KC’s lead to 24-6. After the Cardinals turned the ball over on downs, Cassel found Bowe for his second TD, upping the Chiefs lead to 31-6 with 4:20 left to play.

Arizona moved the ball down the field on their last drive before a sack by CB Javier Arenas forced a loss of 12 yards and slowed the Cardinals drive. Faced with fourth and 15, Anderson hit WR Larry Fitzgerald for 16 yards and a first down at the Kansas City six-yard line with 0:14 seconds left. On second and three, Anderson found Fitzgerald for a TD as time expired, making the final score 31-13.

GAME NOTES• WR Dwayne Bowe caught a TD catch in his sixth consecutive game, bypassing E Chris Burford ('62) and WR Otis Taylor ('66) for the longest streak in franchise history.• LB Mike Vrabel played in his 200th career game. He is one of 27 active players and just one of five linebackers to play in 200 or more regular season games.
