Remember…

Memorial unites us with the past.

Remembering in scripture has a public, celebrative note that includes proclaiming and reciting.

Page 8: Galatians 3:27

Mark 1:9-13

“In those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee

and was baptized by John in the Jordan. And just as

he was coming up out of the water, he saw the

heavens torn apart and the Spirit descending like a

dove on him. And a voice came from heaven, “you

are my Son, the Beloved, with you I am well pleased.

And the Spirit immediately drove him out into the

wilderness. He was in the wilderness forty days,

tempted by Satan and he was with the wild beasts,

and the angels ministered to him.”

God’s Grace in Baptism

“Repent and be baptized, every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you, for your children, and for all who are far away, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to Him.”

Acts 2:38,39

The Equipping of Baptism

B. Guide

Rom 6:3-4 “Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried with him by baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of Life.”

Oneness with the Triune God

Baptism serves as your seal of identity with Christ

In Baptism, Jesus offers an exchange for all that is His to be Yours, and all yours, to be His.

Prepared for the Adversary

The devil wants to destroy you, to accuse you, and tell you lies about yourself and others.

Satan’s name means adversary

This enemy, Satan, seeks to injure the reputation of God or the reputation of God’s people toward God.
