Welcome to Eagle's Nest Christian School! We are an independent private Christian School, which is registered as a non-profit organisation. Our school's vision is to equip and enable learners to develop their full potential as Christian leaders. Each year we have a full programme which includes outreaches to a local orphanages and drop-off centres twice a week, an international outreach to Zambia/Botswana/Namibia/Zimbabwe once a year, a national leadership camp which our school is hosting together with the Association for Christian Schools International (ACSI), etc. Our school is also closely related with Cornerstone Christian Acad-emy in USA and Fort Saskatche-wan Christian School in Canada where the schools visit. Eagle's Nest Christian School educators undergo training each year in teaching Christ-Centered Education which is presented by the Foundation for Christian Education (FCE). We have had a 100% pass rate for the past 7 years and our Gr6, Gr 9 and Gr 12's write the Inde-pendent Examination Board (IEB) examinations. The school has its

own boarding facilities for stu-dents from grades 3 to 12. Your child's education, spiritual and personal wellbeing is our first priority. We trust that your child will enjoy growing spiritu-ally, mentally and physically at Eagle’s Nest Christian School!

ENCS is a English combined school with grades from Age 2 —Grade 12 and is regis-tered with the Limpopo Department of Education and is a member of the Associa-tion of Christian Schools International (ACSI). Christ Centered Education takes place. Our educators are trained and encouraged to teach with Christ as the Centre of every aspect of the curriculum. Aim: We aim to develop the potential of each learner setting an example with our educators who must be a living curriculum which the learners can follow. Our High school learners are writing the Independent Examination Board (IEB) ex-aminations. The core government curriculum is followed and enriched with other curricula. Well-qualified teachers receive further training from the Christ Centred perspective. Our teacher-learner ratio per classroom is kept to a minimum so that learners get intensive individual attention with their school work. This ensures that each student’s potential is discovered and developed. Our Grade 1—9’s are getting special attention in regards with their English and Mathematics. We are implementing a remedial program written by LitaN which is being implemented by various other schools across the country. This curriculum gives them a big advantage in the sense that the teacher is equipped to identify problem areas the child may have in English and Mathematics and help bring the child up to speed with the rest of the class. The child is also given the chance to learn at his/her own pace and thus being able to cover all ground before moving on to the next grade.

Kindergarten Phase –Eaglets (2-4 years ages) Our building blocks is a Christ centred foundation and development of biblical knowledge of the child. We develop the child’s balance, motoric skills, language skills, numeracy skills, social skills, personal skills and emo-tional skills. We also develop Music skills, sharing skills and creative skills.

FOUNDATION PHASE (GR RR-GR 3) (GR RR-turning 5yrs & Gr R –turning 6yrs, Grade 1-GR 3) We have a numeracy, literacy and life skills program that work with the child’s abili-ties and development level and is not limited to their age. They can work faster if they are able. We incorporated our National Curriculum with our Christ centred view.

Local Outreaches Monday and Wednesday the trained outreach learners move out to drop-in zones and an orphanage to care, help, play and share the gospel. A vegetable garden has been started after Foundations for Farming training has been shared with the leaders of Kwelo Bohloko and Mosa during the outreach time. In Mark 16:15 the Lord gives us a mandate to share His love, care and compassion to the world. These eagles are shar-ing their time and skills by teaching and helping the underprivileged and orphan children with numeracy and literacy skills of the Open Schools World Wide Children at Risk Program.

Zimbabwe Outreach Kanyanga Village A group of 24 learners and teachers from Eagle’s Nest Christian School and Corner-stone Christian School and Cornerstone Christian Academy from USA left for Kanyaga Village near Chinhoyi in the North West of Zimbabwe well over 1000km from Polok-wane. During our stay there we worked hard in the fields, covering in between the soyabeans with a grass blanket as Makesure is lifting up banner of sending out the message of hope with this amazing plot of foundations for Farming in this rural area. Training was given on the poor—how can we learn from them—care for them. The boys built their own bushshower. Daily duties consisted of fetching firewoord,

cooking, cleaning and fetching water, playing, teaching the brown-eyed chil-dren in Foundation Pre-School where Aunty Martha is teaching 4—6 year olds. The soccer field was cleaned and a new netball field made where the community was invited to play soccer and netball with us. Games such as ‘bos jukskei’, volleyball were played with the different groups (on time, at standard, no wastafe, with joy) and we did have joy after every day’s hard la-bour—to be learning that work is an act of worship. One of the highlights of the trip where the grou of teachers and learners from Cornerstone and Eagles Nest walked 10km to a local school to share God’s love through songs and a drama to them. We all left Kanayga with sadness and tears, but fulfilled with knowing that God’s love is changing a community and we de-parted enriched with great apprecia-tion in our hearts.

MMasvingo, Makwau Village Walking on a basalt, carrying our tents, bags and some food we were en-gulfed by the beauty of this area. Un-cle Paul, Aunty jane and their son Lovemore and family welcomed us with their passionate hearts for the Lord. We bathed in the river, slept in grass thatched huts and next to the open fire on the basalt, a life changing experience to be part of a community. In Masvingo Pastor Thaddeus and Dee opened their house for our group of 24 and we had a special time of fel-lowship. The group also visited the Chinhoyi Caves and Zimbabwe Ru-ines—a learning experience.
