TRANSCRIPT

A brief historyFutures commenced trading in 1993 under the trading name DC management and in 2003 rebranded as Permanent Futures. The company initially launched in the manufacturing sector, moving into public sector recruitment in 2005, firstly in the social care sector and then education. The core of this service involved the supply of senior interim professionals.

In 2007 the company moved its headquarters to Horsforth, Leeds with further offices in Birmingham, Manchester and London. Other brands have been added to diversify our offering. These include IT Futures (for specialist IT roles) Energy Futures (Oil&Gas, Power & Renewables) and R3 (a sister company specialising in retail and hospitality).

The Futures Group now employs over 40 people with a turnover of £10.5m and continues to grow on a month to month basis. Manufacturing Futures is the largest brand within the business, currently with a team of 12, and continues to expand because of our proactive approach. Whilst we do advertise and use job boards our success comes from networking through a pool of contacts we have spent twenty years developing and the regular headhunt campaigns we carry out. We make it our business to know the candidates others don’t.

We find the best directors, managers and engineers for manufacturing businesses. We know the people to approach as soon as you talk through an assignment with us and can deliver the right candidate almost instantly. When you look to add staff we are well placed to help. Please do get in touch.

Interim Assignments – Why choose Futures to hire an Interim Candidate?

Immediate Availability & Experience

Interims are immediately available and can provide instant support if you need someone to start straight away to cover an unexpected absence, to manage a specific length project, to cover a role whilst you source a permanent candidate or to trial a new position within your business.

Interim candidates quickly motivate staff to get teams onside and ensure they are working efficiently. Interims are experienced working to clear objectives and timescales to deliver tangible results.

A permanent search takes an extended period of weeks or months. Once appointed you are likely to face a notice period waiting for your candidate to start and a honeymoon period to settle into a new role. An Interim will hit the ground running and deliver immediate results from their first week in post.

Knowing they’re with you for the short term and unaffected by internal politics an interim will give an honest assessment of your situation telling you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear.

Financial Benefits

There isn’t a search fee to pay for appointing an interim and there isn’t an ongoing commitment. An Interim gives you the flexibility to have support whilst it’s needed without adding a fixed overhead.

With interims, you are not liable for holiday pay, national insurance or pension contributions, healthcare / medical benefits or car allowance. All you pay is a clear daily rate for as long as they are required.

Management consultants offer analysis to improve performance. An interim manager gives you the same long term strategic benefit but also delivers value for money in the short term by delivering results whilst working with your teams.

A short term contract providing long term value

Whilst providing tangible results during their time with you the legacy benefits of an interim often outweigh the benefits brought whilst working for you. Interims are typically a level senior to the role you would like them to perform and provide positive cultural change alongside introducing new ways of working.

Buddying an existing staff member with an experienced interim can give the one-to-one coaching and development required to bring forward succession planning whilst ensuring business-as-usual service for your customers.
