Outline for Sabbath School Teachers with ideas for group discussion inspired by the Teachers’ Edition of the Sabbath School Lesson prepared by the General Conference SS ministry.

Lesson n. 08 15 - 21 August 2020

Ministering Like Jesus

Key texts:Matthew 5:13,14; 4:23-25; 9:26,36; 25:31-46; Philippians 2:15; Ephesians 4:15; Mark 12:34.

Principle Themes to Explore

1. Christ’s work on earth can be aptly summarised with two thoughts: to save humanity whilst doing good and to proclaim the Word.

1. Jesus faced various human situations of the time, leaving a deep impression on the lives of those He encountered.

1. Jesus served humans in their totality, lifting them up from the weight of sin, improving the quality of their lives, reconciling them to God.

Suggestions for Teaching

In every aspect of life Jesus is the master. He is the God who decided to go in search of man, in particular those who have little esteem, the marginalised and lost, welcoming them with tenderness and thoughtfulness; the God who pushes us to understand His actions, to share His message and witness to others.

Possible questions for sharing and discussion

1. Try to express briefly what you have learned this week that is new and important from the attitude Jesus had toward others.

1. What principle from God’s Word would you use to explain Jesus’ way of doing things? Where could you start? What could you do as a group?

1. What do I need to work on to become someone who improves the overall quality of life of those around me?

1. What do we need to do as a group and as a church to serve individuals in their totality and help them reconcile with God?

Group Objectives
