Chair Specific points worth asking your customers

o Who will be using the chair?

o What is the length of use? (aka Indicative seating time)

o Do you work a lot with your hands?

o Solution: If so, then you probably want a chair without armrests.

o Are there space restrictions in your office space?

o Solution: Mid-back and executive chairs tend to be heavy, wide and tall. Ifyou work in a smaller cubicle/space you are limited with space, sorecommend a task chair.

o Does the backrest provide adequate support for your back?

o TIP: if answered no, you should sell your customer a back rests / backsupport we have on range.

o Do you have a chair mat?

o TIP: For every executive, task or office chair, you should be selling achairmat. Refer to chairmat selection guide.

Questions to the customer that is after an ergonomic chair;

o Do you generally sit stationary at your computer or do you move around yourdesk a lot?

o Solution: If you sit in same position for several continuous hours, thenconsider a full back chair with lumbar (lower back) support.

o Does your chair have an adjustable lumbar (lower back) support?

o Does your seat pan width and depth provide for good fit and comfort?

o Does your seat pan have tilt adjustability?

o Does your seat pan have a rounded front that does not put pressure on the backof your knees and legs?

o When seated, are your knees at or below the level of your hips (knees not higherthan hips)?

o Do your feet rest flat on the floor or are they supported by a stable footrest?

o Does your chair have armrests that support your forearms and do not interferewith swivel or normal movements of the chair?

Tips /Hack for selling chair mats:

If you have a retail front: display an anti-fatigue chairmat at your counter, every single customer that stands at the counter to pay, gets to experience the comfortable anti-fatigue properties, it’s a great conversation starter, which can translate into a sale.

As a reminder, for every chair you sell, you should be upselling a chairmat to your customer.

o How many employees?

o What’s your budget?

o What is the current desk set up in the office?

o If there are fixed desks already in place, a workstation is best for you as it sits ontop of the desk

o Are there any space restrictions? Some standing desks can be quite large / bulky

o Adjustable desk or a fixed height? Adjustable desk gives the flexibility to sit orstand, adjust for comfort and get the most optimal ergonomic position

o How tall are the employees? This will depend on the type of sit / stand desk orworkstation you offer.

o How high do you want the set up to be? Measure for monitors and again fordesk surface so you can account for height difference between displays andwhere your hands will be?

o Do you need a separate platform for the keyboard?

o Manual or automatic lift?

o Size and lifting capacity?

o How many screens do you use?

TIP: use monitor arms as an add on sale. If more than one is required, you willneed to check size and lifting capacity of the desk.

o Customer use a laptop or desk top computer? This will vary on the type and sizeof the desk or workstation.

The Workstation Ergonomics Self-Assessment is best undertaken by two people e.g. with your supervisor or team member. This enables the person to sit at their workstation while a second person observes and assists them achieve the recommended posture.

Office Choice members are to work closely with suppliers on meeting required delivery times and ensuring communication to the customer is clear on when they will receive the stock aswell as any installation and assembly queries they may have.

If an Office Choice member is not confident in installation and the customer requires this, please rely on the relevant supplier who will send a rep out to help the customer with any installation needs.

Please note with furniture that installation, delivery and assembly can come at a cost and this needs to be clarified with the customer at the time of raising an order.
