Multi-Purpose Theatre In major cities around the country, The Nutcracker has become an integral holiday staple of American Christmas culture.
The theater at Heritage Park will allow Lansing Michigan to join in this tradition in grand style.
In Michigan there are hundreds of dance groups, both amateur and professional, that perform this ballet each year with many variations, including full length versions and short versions, with unique choreography designed for each ballet company mostly in November and December. The theater at Heritage Park will provide an additional venue for the many dance companies in our state to perform for large audiences on a rotating basis. The cherry on top of this versatile multi-purpose theater facility is a planetarium with a retractable hemispheric projection dome with the capability to also show other special virtual reality and iMax-type productions.
The 4D Theater is one of the most advanced in the world, employing interactive seats and unique special effects that are built into the theater itself. By creating a set of “4D” effects that are synchronized to the film production, 4D Theater is fully equipped with the latest state-of-the-art technology that allows movie-goers to get more involved with the movie than ever thought possible before. The audience will be able to feel the wind, water and movement of the characters on the screen adding another layer of immersive fun for all ages.
