5.9 Package Requirements
5.9.1 General
The package shall be designed and fabricated in accordance with the Functional
Specification for Packaged Equipment 5100P / W
5.9.2 Piping
All interconnecting pipe work and valves shall comply with the requirements of
AMSE B 31.3 and the requirements of the Functional Specifications for Piping
Design 2004-A, Functional specification for piping fabrication and installation 2004 –
B, Functional Specification for Insulation of Piping and Equipment.
All pipe work shall be thoroughly cleaned internally before erection.
Connections to the receivers and Dryer units shall be flanged to ASME B16.6 Class
150 RF
The pipe work interconnecting the compressors, receivers and dryers shall be so
arranged that each major piece of equipment can be taken out of service without
interrupting the air supply.
All drain lines shall be separately routed to the Package edge where they shall be
grouped and terminated in one 50 DN (2”) ASME B 16.5 Class 150 RF flange for
connection to the platform drain system. There shall be a continuous fall of at least
1:100 in the drain lines towards the terminal point.
Pipe work shall be sized and designed in accordance with good engineering practice.
All pipe work shall be adequately supported for shipment and operation. Termination
flange size shall be DN 50 (2”) minimum. Drain lines do not need to be heat traced
or insulated.
The use of flexible hoses shall be kept at a minimum. Any flexible hoses shall be
braided and have a pressure rating of at least the system relief valve set pressure at the
operating temperature.
All piping terminations shall be flanged to ASME B 16.5
