As adults, we overestimate courage and underestimate ourselves. We begin to think that courage is a mantle that only a few can wear. With young people, we realise that courage is found everywhere… even in the little things. Courage is aiming to jump three steps when you know your heart is beating fast and that you may fall. But still doing it because you want to test your jumping limits. Courage is the decision you make to get into the swimming pool through it may seem like you will freeze from the sudden cold plunge. Courage is the ability to try a new kind of salad because you know it is the healthy choice to make instead of an extra serving of dessert. Courage is the ability to challenge and prod yourself. To go beyond your limits even if it meant doing so in an area that may seem inconsequential. Nothing is inconsequential. These seemingly tiny un-noticeable moments are the ones that ultimately give us the courage to face that which requires inhumane strength. On the note of courage, we are immensely proud of our learners. Their sporting achievements specifically, have been so glorious that we are humbled by being associated with our learners. They are worthy role-models and we can’t help but be glad that we are learning with and from them just as much as they are from us.

“Courage is doing what you are afraid to do.” – Eddie Rickenbacker

Dear Parents and Guardians,

When you learn and grow with young people, you realise that courage takes on a whole new meaning.

Before we delve into sports, here is a quick update on the whole school events. Whole School Updates:

The Rubik’s cube challenge is an open ended puzzle that not only enhances

one’s hand eye coordination but also improves concentration and sharpens the

mind.

The Rubik’s cube challenge was held on 12th December. Yajas Gupta of Grade

5A was the fastest, solving the 3X3 cube in 52 seconds, followed by Rithvik

Thachapilly of 5C in second place (1.03minutes) and Viraj Bhirud of 5B coming

in third (1.18 minutes).

The PYP Carnival & Mufti Day was held on the 14th of December 2019.

Learners of Grades 4 and Grade 5 put up a carnival that was filled with fun,

games and goodies. There was team work on display as learners manned the

different stalls and ensured that all the students of PYP could have some good-

natured fun out in the sunshine. The PYP block was resounding with laughter,

making the end of the year a memorable one.

The EYP Showcase was a wonderful opportunity for our young eagles of the

EYP as they presented the ‘Sulky Santa’. This is a fun-filled and comic

production that showcased the varied talents of our learners in acting, singing

and dance. They regaled the audience with perfect comic timing and

demonstrated excellent coordination and team spirit throughout the play. We

are indeed proud of our youngest eagles.

Meanwhile, the Middle Years and Diploma Learners were kept busy writing their Half Yearly Examinations.
