take place on Wednesday, April
3rd from 9am-12:30pm. Please
call our school office to schedule
an appointment for your incom-
ing kindergarten student. Invite
friends and family with an in-
coming kindergartener to attend
as well.

Our next early release will be on
Wednesday, April 3rd. This
means students will be released
at 1pm. Lunch will be served
and after Care is available. Our
teachers will be working on our
root beliefs with Abriana Chilelli,
Director of Curriculum at the
Archdiocese of Denver, Office of
Catholic Schools.
Mission Statement: Under the protection of Jesus and the Blessed Mother, and guided by the Holy Spirit, St. Mary Catholic School is a faith centered academic community that encourages service to God and others and strives to form the hearts, minds and souls of our students in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Catholic Faith.
“But now we must celebrate and rejoice, because your brother was dead and has come to life again; he was lost and has been found.” Luke 15:32

Parent/Teacher Conferences
We will have spring parent/
teacher conferences on Thurs-
day, March 28th from 5pm-8pm
and on Friday, March 29th from
11am-4pm. There will be NO
SCHOOL on Friday, March
29th. Grades will open on Fast
Direct on Thursday, March 28th.
Please take the time to review
your child’s report card prior to
attending the conference with
your child’s teacher.
How to have a Successful
Parent/Teacher Conference
1. Write down any questions
you have for the teacher.
2. Before going to the confer-
ence, gather any papers, tests, or
projects you’d like to discuss.
3. Check in your with your child
on how school is going. Ask
your child if there’s anything
they’d like you to bring up in the
conference. Ask about what
subjects are easy and which ones
are hard. Have them tell you
about how they get along with
the other children, who they sit
with at lunch, and how recess is
going. Get an idea from your
child how school is going and
how they relate to their teacher.
4. If you have other kids, try not
to bring them to the conference.
Because parent-teacher confer-
ences are often brief, keep the
focus on the meeting and not on
your small child.
5. Arrive promptly or a few
minutes early.
6. Listen to the teacher.
7. Be open-minded to sugges-
tions from the teacher.
8. Ask for ways to support your
child’s learning at home
9. Keep your emotions under
control.
10. Do not stay beyond your
allotted time.
11. Express appreciation for the
conference.

2019-2020 Registration
Registration for the 2019-2020 school year is
under way! We opened registration for our
current families on Monday. Open enroll-
ment will begin on Monday, April 1st. We
give priority to all current families which is
why you are given a week prior to any new
families to register. We work hard to keep
our tuition as low as possible. In fact, our
school has one of the lowest tuition rates in
the Archdiocese. However, due to the in-
creasing costs of wages, supplies, utilities,
etc., we are forced to raise our tuition $100
for the 2019-2020 school year. This means
the tuition rate for Kindergarten-8th grade for
the 2019-2020 school year will be as follows:
Catholic Families (in "good standing" with
your parish and a signed parish affiliation
form from your pastor):
First Child-$4,300
Second Child- $4,100
Third Child-$3,900
Fourth Child- Free
Non-Catholic or No Parish Affiliation
Families:
First Child-$5,900
Second Child- $5,700

The registration fee of $225 per family will
remain the same and the book fee of $150 per
child will also remain the same. The registra-
Registration Incentive!

5 families will receive $200 off their
2019-2020 tuition
5 families will receive $100 off their

SCRIP
What is it? Scrip fundraising is a no-selling program that enables families to raise money for their nonprofit organization. Scrip is just another way to pay for everyday purchases using gift cards in place of cash, checks and credit cards.
How does it work? You purchase your scrip ahead of time. When you go shopping, you pay with the scrip card. If you do not spend your card all at one time, you will have a remaining balance to use the next time you shop.
You can purchase Kohl’s scrip cards through the school to pay your Kohl’s credit card! Purchase your cards and then take it to the store and let them know you are paying your credit card bill either at customer service or at the checkout (you cannot pay online with your scrip cards). Make sure your card says Kohl’s Cares on it, as this is the only card accepted through Kohl’s to pay your bill. It’s definitely a win-win for this business!
Does it cost any extra to me? No. When you purchase your scrip, you get dollar for dollar of what you purchase with a rebate going back to the school. For example, if you buy $100 worth of King Soopers you receive $100 to spend there. You have also donated $5 back to St. Mary’s by this purchase without doing anything else! The rebate of $5 came from the store, not you.
How much do I have to purchase at one time? Increments of the cards are between $10 and $50. Safeway and King Soopers are reloadable at the store. This means you can put money on your card before making your purchase. A good way to do this is to ask the checker to put money on your card before scanning your groceries. After paying to reload your card, have the checker scan your groceries and pay for your items with the card you just reloaded.
Who can purchase scrip? Anyone you know can help our school and purchase our scrip. Grandparents, relatives, neighbors, and friends all need groceries and can get the cards through you and going to the Parish Office. You will receive credit through their purchases as long as they give them your family name.
How much do I need to purchase? To keep our tuition cost low and to receive the “in parish rate,” each family must purchase at least $5,000 per year (June-May). If you purchase over $5,000, 5% of that will go towards your fundraising. This amount is easy to reach when you get in the habit of always having scrip in your wallet before you run to the store. It also is easy to achieve when you get your family and friends involved. Remember that it is not an extra cost to you. The only one who pays is the stores.
Questions? Please call 353-8100. Thank you for supporting St. Mary Catholic School. If you do not receive your ordered scrip by the following day at the latest, please notify the office immediately!
NOTE: You cannot buy gift cards from King Soopers or Safeway with your scrip card.
