An Evening at Stumpknockersin InvernessStoryandPhotosbyBettyShutler

A new dining adventure at Stumpknockers on the main drag in Inverness was enjoyed by a fun group which included Jay Gerding, Ron Fitch, Hub and Cathey Sanders,Dave and Gloria Woodman, Steve and Susan and Bob and Betty Shutler

It was a cool night but our hearty President, Jay Gerding, braved it in his topless MG. As he shook off the frost from the top of his head upon arrival, he was warmly greeted by Bob and Betty.

An Little Halloween Fun . . .StorybyJayGerdingandPhotosprovidedbyDaveHauser

In a recent Event Reminder, I asked members to send pictures of themselves dressed for Halloween. Apparently,

only Dave and Rita were into the spirit of the day. I guess some people just never grow up. You guys are required to share the candy you got Trick or Treating.

FROGEYE Update from Chuck Vanerka Member Chuck Vanerka spends countless hours restoring LBC’s to pristine condition in his garage, then has no problem parting with them. Chuck sent us this photo and a recent email he received from the FrogEye’s proud new owner.

80 mph @ 3000 RPM FrogEye! Perhaps I should have kept that one, at least he’s happy. I wonder if he’d like an XKE? Makes me want to look for another FrogEye. Chuck

----- Original Message ----- From: [email protected] To: Chuck Vanerka Sent: Monday, October 29, 2012 10:08 AM Subject: Frogeye Hi Chuck,Hope you’re well.Just a few informations about your former FROGEYE that I’ve been enjoying extensively during the last 24 months. The little beat has now got a five speed gearbox from Frontline Developments (crusing 80 mph at 3000 rpm) and a fast road camshaft from Kent...(90 bhp).It now drives like heel and leads me as far as Stelvio Pass where this picture has been shot last September....Obviously, the Frog mascot is still on the center console.Kind regards.

Save the Date ! ! !

MG Classics of Jacksonville would like to extend a cordial invitation to all MG owners to participate with us in GOF South MK XLVII to be held April 19-21, 2013 at the Hilton Hotel in Ocala located near the intersection of I-75 and Florida State Road 200.A drive to the nearby Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing and Antique Cars through the beautiful rolling hills of the surrounding horse country is being offered as a line item on our registration form. Our club has visited the Museum and we highly recommend it. We are also working on providing a tour to a local working horse farm. Ocala has the largest number of racehorse farms in the U.S.The Hilton has a large open patio area adjacent to the pool where we will hold our Friday night meet and greet social-ization and meal. The “First Timers” cars will be displayed adjacent to this area and may be viewed from the patio/pool area. The Saturday car show will be held on the large grassy area behind the hotel under the shade of majestic live oaks. The Saturday night Awards Banquet and raffle/auction will be held in one of their elegant ballrooms. Both meals will be served buffet style. Menu selections will appear in line items on the registration form. Wine and cheese will be offered before the banquet. The Hilton has agreed to extend the event room rates for those who would like to come early or stay after the event is over. Lunch will be on your own and the Hilton has an excellent reasonably priced lunch menu. Many restaurants are also located on State Road 200 as well as a large shop-ping mall. The registration form will appear on our web site (mgclas-sics.org) around the first of the year. Also watch for the form in your individual newsletters and/or websites. We promise you a first class GOF experience and are certain you will re-turn home with a smile on your face for having participated in a great GOF South.
