From the Classroom to the Dining Room! Thank You Parents!
Has your family had an
opportunity to “be the helper”?
Cleaning Nene’s windows.
Writing prayer cards to TCS family members on the front lines. Serving at the soup kitchen
So proud of our Student Council members who accepted the challenge from the STUCO President, Sydney Turner, to encourage them to share a short devotional on Instagram about what they are learning from God’s word during this time of quarantine. Thank you, students! You inspire us! #bethehelper
Connecting, Teaching, Encouraging, Meeting, Sharing, Praying—Virtually!
Rachel Johnson
Rachel Brooke Johnson has attended Texoma Christian School for eight years. While at TCS, she
has been involved with Sisters in Service, the Photography and Art Club, and is a member of National Honor Society. Rachel also played volleyball in middle school and her freshman year.
Outside of school, Rachel attends Temple Baptist Church and is active in their service projects and youth group. She also enjoys reading, painting, and being with her friends. Over the summer, she worked as a lifeguard, and she said that was her most enjoyable summer.
Rachel has so many favorite memories from her time at TCS. When she first came to TCS she said she did not know anyone and at the same time Katy Rice had just transferred to TCS, and she did not know anyone either. It was in gym class that she and Katy bonded over “Steal the Gold” and have remained friends to this day. She said the bonds that she has created at TCS are unbeatable.
TCS has impacted Rachel both academically and spiritually. She said TCS has pushed her to be the best version of herself. Even when she forgot to bring God into her day, TCS teachers were always there to pray and remind her of Him. Academically, she has been challenged and pushed to be her best.
When asked who has been influential in her life during her school years, Rachel said, “My sister, Crystal, has always been the person I have looked up to. I watched her go through some very hard times and still keep a Godly mindset and not falter in her view of herself. She is a strong, Godly woman.”
Following graduation, Rachel plans to attend either the University of North Texas or Texas A & M Commerce and pursue a career in Nursing, hopefully one day specializing in Labor and Delivery.
Rachel’s favorite scripture is Psalm 23. It has always reminded her that God is with her and has everything under control.
Rachel’s advice to future high school seniors is, “Don’t waste this time. Enjoy it. Anything you do in high school, people most likely will not remember in five years, so have fun. Be goofy. Make the most of the moments that happen and laugh when things get embarrassing or awkward. Don’t think too hard about boys or drama or whatever else. Just be with your friends before it is too late and you have all gone different ways.”
