From Farm to Fridge: It will put you off meat, Forever.

Watching the clip farm to fridge has been the saddest thing I have ever seen in my whole

life. The farmers that I have seen are probably that who are uneducated and lives in the third

world. Farmers who mistreat animals have to be persecuted. Those beings have lives and even

though they are our food, it has a justifiable process to follow. It was my first time seeing such

event. Farmers here on where I live treat animals with care. They are well fed by them until the

time they are killed to become food for us. The parts are handled with care and provide food

safety until they are distributed to different stores to sell for the consumption of the people.

Videos like these are shown to the world in order for men to stop making animals for food.

Those evil farmers are tarnishing the names of the farmers who are doing good in the meat

business. It has been a part of our culture and life since the history about animals being food for

humans. But even though they are only considered as a minority, giving a justifiable death is a

must. A certain process and laws has been implemented by the governments to protect the rights

of these creatures. Human society has a natural obligation and law to have morals. We are the

highest form of creature and we know what is best. Animals were put in this world to give us a

precious food. So why can’t we handle them preciously as well? They have helped us to continue

surviving. Economically, these creatures have been the living technology used before our

ancestors. Tears always fall on my eyes seeing these creatures suffering a cruel death. The

realities of factory farming have made me think to reconsider of consuming meat. But even

though I become a vegetarian, I still need vitamins and needed things from meat for my body. I

admit watching this clip made me want to be a vegetarian. I cannot help but feel pity and disgust

watching it. People need to wake up! They need to realize that animals also feel pleasure and

pain. Why do they think it is fine to do it? I am aware that this event doesn’t happen in every

farm. And this clip shown might even caused a farmer’s family to have great suffering and goes

out of business. This might even be a strategy manipulated by people to promote vegan

propaganda to people.

This clip should become an eye opener for the governments of the different countries.

They should impose strict laws and requirements needed in order to have such business. Farmers

should be monitored. Equipments used for slaughtering animals should be proper. Anesthetics

should be provided if possible. Just like euthanasia. But in this clip, it shows no mercy at all. As

if treating these creatures as lifeless objects. A certain norm for animal agriculture has to be

followed and show the standard practices of this industry because they happen behind closed

doors and the public often doesn’t know the horrors farmed animals endure to get on their plate.

Thinking of it makes us no different from monsters. It makes me want to puke thinking about it.

It is just too sad. Those animals were screaming in pain, and the workers always hurt

them. How would you feel if your much loved dog was treated this way? Farmed animals are as

every least bit able to feel pain as dogs, cats, and human beings. What you saw in the video is

real assault. Business like these doing such malpractices needs to shut down. They need to be

hunted! They are just hiding on the shadows doing bad business. That is why we need support

and help each other tracking these black markets.

The means and ways of farmers raise their animals shown in the clip are just so wrong.

Too wrong. The pigs’ throats are slit and piglets are being thrown everywhere getting ripped

apart. It is too heartbreaking for me to handle to continue watching.

Humans just think about profits. There is even no guaranteed that businesses are

following such laws. We don’t see much video like these. Why? Because they don’t want people

to know and have knowledge about what is really going on. They think that it is very cost

efficient to just slaughter these poor creatures on a vicious way than doing it humanely. Do

farmers really care? “They are just low life animals.” This is maybe what they are thinking right

now. Animals are low life creatures that don’t possess any intelligence. Just because they don’t

talk back that it doesn’t mean it is fine to do such cruel things. Just imagine your dog being

slaughtered mercilessly. It is such an excruciating pain, right?

Animals are not ours to eat, wear, experiment on, use for entertainment, or abuse in any

way. That is why I really appreciate many websites and advertisements that campaigns animal

cruelty especially the farm to fridge. But I wondered, this video has been around for like a

decade already yet meat production and consumption still tops in the record. Why? So this just

means that the campaigns are not that effective at all. I am guilty for consuming meat. But it

doesn’t mean we have to stop eating it right? Farmers just need to do the proper process on

slaughtering animals. The one with justice. How can we monitor that abusive way is not being

done or it is stopped already? It is very hard to tell since most of it is done without cameras. It is

done without anyone knowing.

After watching the video, did it make you think to consider not consuming meat

anymore?

I wonder how many farmers around the world do the same thing what was shown in the

video. I wonder how it feels to treat those animals like that. Do those farmers feel guilt? Or are

Page 4: From farm to fridge

they just one of those heartless beings that treat animals like objects. This seriously needs to stop.

My voice might not reach to everybody, but I know that I can make a change.

I may over act, but that is what I really feel. The means and ways of farmers raising those

animals in the video is just so wrong.

But after all that I have said, I have come into a conclusion. There is no such thing as

happy death or a humane slaughter. All animals no matter how they are slaughtered endure

the same brutal death. As long as people continue to crave “bacon”, “tocino” , “corned

beef” and etc, animal cruelty is endless. I feel like a hypocrite saying all these things since I

also consume these meats.

People need to be in one mind. One goal to have peace, love, and stop all forms of cruelty

in the world. If that will be achieve, all these things can be stop. If only we can learn to love not

just fellow humans, but treat animals as one of us as well, then all of these will be stopped. It is

easily said and done. The minds of the people are already set that all animals are for them to

consume. They are food and nothing else.

But still deep inside my heart, I dream of a world where everything is equal. It doesn’t

need to be today, but as long as the future can assure me that the time will really come, then I can

live such happy life.

So from the bottom of my heart, I will not hesitate to share this video to my family,

friends, relatives, colleagues, and etc. See them what is really happening.

animals are treated.”
